FIRST ON FOX: The same hard-left network behind "No Kings" and other protests is leading the battle against data centers and Flock surveillance cameras, according to a Fox News Digital investigation and a new report.
In growing protests from San Francisco to North Carolina, organizations and activists associated with the same ecosystem that rallied against President Donald Trump, Israel, Elon Musk, Tesla and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the last two years are now taking on data-center construction and license-plate readers.
The overlap includes organizations funded by pro-China, Shanghai-based tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, whose sprawling nonprofit and media network has faced Congressional and federal scrutiny over its funding and foreign ties. Singham and the nonprofits he has funded have denied taking orders from any government or political party and haven’t been charged with any crimes.
The findings are detailed in a new report, "The Compute War at Home," commissioned by Consumer Action for a Strong Economy, an Alexandria, Va., free-markets nonprofit that used social-media analysis by Arken Intelligence, a technology firm based in Washington, D.C., for parts of its study.
"The money, media, organizing capacity and campaign objectives converge in the same ecosystem," the report says.
Based on reporting over the past several years from street protests, Fox News Digital has identified the protest movement’s evolution across three phases. The new report chronicles a repeatable political model, in which activists first identify a local grievance, then connect it to a larger ideological narrative and package the argument through national media and activist infrastructure and carry it into new communities.

What's to stop this liberal mayor and this liberal chief of police from using flock cameras to identify people attending Trump rallies or MAGA protests?

These will not be used to catch “urban youths” engaging in career criminality. The cries of “disproportionately affect marginalized communities” will prevent them for being used for that.
Cops aren’t policing inner cities any more. They are allowing street take overs. Kids are posting videos of themselves committing crimes every single day. Nothing is done about it.
These cameras will ultimately be used like the Patriot Act, to eliminate privacy for normal Americans. They aren’t going to fight the laws CURRENTLY being broken. They are to fight the laws of the future.
Imagine what would have been done to us during Covid if Flock cameras were everywhere.
The US has spent approximately 23 times more than China on AI. Viewing AI as a competition with China is about as silly as it gets. The heavy use of AI is guaranteed to do one thing, descend into mediocrity.
AI created music is mediocre. AI created poetry is mediocre, AI created poetry is mediocre. AI created journalism is mediocre. AI created legal arguments are mediocre. AI designed products are mediocre, and on and on. Given that China's main claim to fame is creating mediocre products cheaper that are cheaper than the products that they are imitating... AI does seem like a good fit for them. Even their AI LLMs (large language models) are typically the result of stealing work from US based LLMs. From that perspective China is winning the race to mediocrity.

Almost everything we get is mediocre these days, from furniture, to appliances, to toys, to clothing, and everything else. In truth, I have a subscription to Suno AI which is the most popular AI music generator. I use it to add music to my YouTube videos. It will make appropriate sounding background music for pretty much any video without having to pay for royalties. It is an amazing tool, and I don't mind listening to the resulting “music”. But it fits the definition of mediocre, whose synonyms are “Ordinary, Middling, Passable, Average, and Second-rate”. Most of us are conditioned to happily accept second rate for just about everything as long as it actually works.
The greed and arrogance of the Billionaires has much to do with the present rise of socialism but, it is only one part. The “Gimme Generation” is also an element—that people “deserve” free food, housing, and education. This is fueled by our prosperity. That will end with the Government going broke. You do not see this in the 3rd world. Does Mexico give people money for not working? How long before the “people” demand free cars for everyone over 18?

first of all, for all the qualities, data centers belong in an industrial zone. They need to generate at least most of their own power, and we need to expand and fix our power grid big time.
