An enraged Wisconsin parent was cited for tripping a 9-year-old football player during a youth league game when he became “upset over a play,” as the child’s coach declared it the “most cowardly act I’ve ever seen.
Shocking footage captured the dad, who was supporting the Milwaukee Colts, taking matters into his own hands when he made the drastic intervention against the Case Eagles in Racine, Wisc., on Saturday, CBS58 reported.
The Eagles football player, wearing No. 88, was rushing to score a touchdown when the rogue adult extended his left leg and tripped the athlete.
The boy and adult both tumbled to the ground as officials halted the game’s play.
Channing Schultz, the Eagles head coach, said the boy was okay but was infuriated by what unfolded on the field.
“I was filled with anger, it was disgusting,” he told CBS. “It was the most cowardly act I’ve ever seen. For him to just do it with so much intent and he was committed. No words can fix that at all.”
Mount Pleasant police said the suspect, identified as a 41-year-old man, walked out onto the field when he “became upset over a play.”
He fled the field, but police issued a citation for disorderly conduct after he admitted to his actions during a traffic stop.

This is why, unless they are coaches or doing chains, parents should be no where near the sidelines.

See it happen in a high school game I was officiating in once. Guy just came off the bench and tackled a guy running for a TD on a punt play.
I did not say or implied he did. He did the same thing during a college football game when he tripped a runner heading for a TD IN A COLLAGE GAME -18 0r 19 yo player.
Brutha is gonna meet a lot of bruthas from other muthas very soon on the street. Yo.
No that is incorrect. Hayes punched a player on the opposing team that had just intercepted a pass to seal Ohio State losing the game and he lost his temper.
At any rate, woody Hayes punched what was basically a grown man, not a child.
Big difference.
The trippiest beginning to any movie I have ever seen....EVER. SMH
I take it that was an illegal move — pull someone down by the shirt.
Agreed! He shouldn't have been fired...........LOL!
And again. He tripped up a player running to the end zone.
Woody Hayes did not trip a Michigan player, but he famously punched Clemson player Charlie Bauman during the 1978 Gator Bowl
he ought not lose his job. he ought me “mockedly” tripped daily at his job, forever.
“Have a nice trip, see you next Fall!”
There ya go, now you got it. 👍🙂
I live in Jacksonville (home of the Gator Bowl).
We heard about that incident here for weeks after.
Wisconsin should introduce new pillory stocks.
