A Washington state mother has been accused of killing her disabled toddler after allegedly turning on the bathtub faucet and leaving him face-down in the water for nearly 15 minutes, prosecutors say.
Nakeeya Arbogast, 25, of Seattle, was arrested Monday in connection with the death of her two-year-old son after prosecutors alleged she left him alone in a rapidly filling bathtub, despite later admitting she knew it was 'unsafe.'
The toddler, identified only by the initials KOA in court documents, fought for his life in the hospital for two days before succumbing to brain injuries caused by the near-drowning.
Arbogast allegedly denied intending to kill her son, who had Down syndrome and significant physical and developmental delays that made him a 'particularly vulnerable' victim, according to charging documents obtained by The Daily Mail.
'On that night, as the water filled the tub around KOA's tiny body, he was unable to do anything to save himself from drowning,' prosecutors wrote, adding that Arbogast left him 'physically helpless.'
The toddler was unable to crawl, walk or sit independently without support, according to court documents. Arbogast allegedly told responding officers he functioned at the level of an 11-month-old baby.
A probable cause statement obtained by the Daily Mail revealed that the child's paternal grandfather, identified only as Owens Sr, told investigators he had witnessed Arbogast display threatening behavior on multiple occasions.
In one instance, the grandfather said he was speaking with his son, identified only as Owens, on the phone when he overheard Arbogast screaming in the background: 'You leave and I'll kill these ******* kids!'

And is it them again?
Seattle and no picture so it’s a safe bet.
Don’t know. There is no picture of her.
Irish?
Duh, it’s Amish.
Unable to post photos from my phone. But her facebook page is still up. The answer is yes.

1st Degree Manslaughter? Seems like 1st Degree Murder.
That last quote from the Mother; “If you leave, I will kill these **** kids!!” Overheard by the parental Grandpa.
Of course, it’s hateful and frightening to hear any parent say that about their kids, but that remark from somebody who was enormously overwhelmed and knew it.
The main complication was, that the ‘Father’ had already received a court order telling him to stay away, because apparently, he had been violent to either the Mom and/or the other two kids.
These two people should have practiced better birth control.
Neither is parental material, and each of those children is going to grow up believing that no one really wants them around or cares about what happens to them.
As an aside, and why I hate "journalists":
The toddler was unable to crawl, walk or sit independently without support
So he was not a "toddler", because he was incapable of toddling. Words mean things.
Kill that bitch the same way...
“And is it them again?”
Susan Smith or Andrea Yates?
Just sh**t her. No amount of community services will fix a feral human being like her.
People who can't handle raising babies should refrain from baby-making activities.
I am so sorry for this little one; what a horrible way to die. And no telling what abuse he suffered throughout his short life at the hands of a mother who didn’t want him and certainly wasn’t equipped to care for his extra needs.
I’m grateful he is healthy and whole with Jesus now.
Sounds like MURDER to me
Jesus wept.
First-Degree Murder.
