The Chevrolet Silverado will have as its signature the 350 and 400 V8 engines. Yes, we're taking CUBIC INCH DISPLACEMENT.

I don’t care if they install 5000 hp engines that run on hopes and dreams, if it has the new surveillance technology I’ve been reading about it’s a big NO.

“Chevrolet unveils ‘most powerful Silverado ever’ with new V8 engines, high-tech cabin.”

And a 30 speed automatic transmission. Just more crap that will malfunction.

Will they ever fix the disaster of Dynamic Fuel Management on their 5.3 and 6.2 liter engines?

Meanwhile, my 2008 Ford Ranger will still be running after this Silverado breaks down.

Beautiful truck but I’d rather buy a small house or some acreage with the $100,000+ price tags. The truck will be constantly breaking down, rusting, and worth about $10K in a few years. The house and land could double in price in some places in the USA in the same time.

Lots of vids on Youtube showing all the poor young saps who bought one and are now paying $1,200+ a month payments at high interest rates - for 10 year loans. Crazy, suicidal. They’ve instantly destroyed their financial futures with that one stupid purchase.

Plus Chevys suck. There’s a reason the Ford F150 is the best selling truck since the Reagan administration. And it didn’t help that GM took that massive, unnecessary bailout back in ‘08. Basstardis.

Great for those who have $85k for a truck.

Or those willing to pay $1500 a month for 8 years.

I drove my Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.6-liter Duramax diesel 4x4 for 20 years, 300,000 miles, towed heavy loads across country, loved every minute, every mile.

Those were the days, FRiend, not to be seen ever again...

A 350 or even 400cid V8 in a pickup is hardly unprecedented.

The thing’s as ugly as a cat turd crossed with a potato bug.

With all of the illegal alien invaders living here and “makin the big bucks” off of government fraud now, they should go for the upside of 100K.

In a car you turn it on and go and keep it between the lines, turn left, turn right, the seat is padded, it is air-conditioned, and it has a radio, the overhead light is nice, hope the visor blocks the sun when you flip it down, headlight dimmer on the turn indicator handle was a nice improvement, vent windows are really useful, knowing the oil pressure, radiator temp and gas tank level is useful for a machine, price the basic model of car at about $12,000 and make the common man happy, then have your escalating scale of luxury, short term trendy electronics and useless but expensive bells and whistles, and planned obsolescence for the rest of the market.

There’s a diesel 1992 Toyota hilux down the road from me that I would take a flyer on but it has spent time in Malaysia and the UAE. Who knows what lurks beneath the undercoating.

It looks like a Toyota Tundra.

It’s still made by the UAW, so it’s a “no go” for me, even if I needed a truck

The truck will offer 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8s...

What will happen to all those $80k EV trucks?

Some random thoughts on why I won’t be buying one ...

a) AFM or DFM ... pass
b) base price over $60,000 ...pass
c) radio and climate controls embedded in the ipad ... pass
d) turbo assist on the engine ... pass
e) fluid changes must be done at dealer ... pass
f) no oil/transmission dip-sticks in the engine bay ... pass

Feel free to add to this list.

My 2020 Silverado has never been in the shop. I have driven the crap out of it. I have no complaints and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

But the story was they were going to transition the entire platform to 4 cylinder, with the heavy duty model being a V-6. I was going to test drive a Tundra to make sure I got a full-power pickup.

I’m glad to hear the 4 cylinder plans are going in the trash heap.
