Meanwhile, my 2008 Ford Ranger will still be running after this Silverado breaks down.
Ya, my last GM truck was terrible! I used it for my farm and discovered the transmission just wasn’t up to the task. The first failure was after pulling an empty trailer to pick up a tedder. We’re not talking heavy work here. The second was the transfer case that blew up. In both cases the truck had less than 75k miles on it. GM declined to help out in either case. I told their help line I was done with them. They didn’t seem to care….
Also as an auto mechanic when the dealership took trades they went thru a presale inspection. Almost 100% of the time a 2+ year old American car was mechanically unfit. The jap and some Euro brands were much much better mechanically and cosmetically…by a long shot! Things really haven’t gotten better since the 70s.
MY 1976 1 TON CHEVY 454 IS STILL RUNNING -—BUT IS 50 YEARS OLD. NEW BUILD ENGINE IN 2004. OVER 348,000 MILES ON THE CHASSIS.
I own a 2007 Tundra. You wanna play "Can you top this?"
