Enraged PETA activists encased their feet in cement at PepsiCo’s New York headquarters over the alleged abuse of bulls in its sugar supply chain, according to authorities and reports.
The animal rights activists clad in bull horns blocked the entrance to the PepsiCo headquarters in Purchase on Wednesday during the multinational food and beverage corporation’s virtual annual shareholder meeting, PETA announced in a statement.
Video from the scene captured the chanting protesters spilling fake blood on the roadway, with their shoes stuck in cement blocks as cars honked and cops demanded they scurry.
“Pepsi profits, bulls pay the price!” the activists screamed as officers swooped in and began cuffing them, at times removing their costume bull horns.
Firefighters later arrived to drill and break the cement blocks from the protesters’ feet. Some of them were seen being taken to ambulances on stretchers after the ordeal.
One officer was heard accusing the fake-blood-drenched clan of trying to stage a “photo-op” while warning them to stop the protest.
Six protestors were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and criminal tampering, News12 reported.
The spectacle was staged to urge PepsiCo to stop sourcing sugar from partners and suppliers in India, where PETA claims that bulls are beaten, whipped, and forced to haul illegally overloaded sugar cane carts in extreme heat.

Why are tax dollars paying for the removal of the cement blocks. They should have been taken into custody as such and wheeled into court. Like people who glue themselves to the pavement; cut the pavement around the hands and arrest them like that.

I don’t know the facts on that but my impression of PETA is that it is primarily a fundraising operation that is also a sort of fun club for its members and celebrities, they think up and do stunts and performance art while going through a lot of free, donated money, a self indulgent club activity for themselves.
I still remember a very nasty scene from a book I read decades ago in which some New York bad guys dropped a victim into the East River with concrete footwear. What made it particularly nasty was that the baddies put scuba gear on the guy and taped the regulator in his mouth, so he’d have about an hour to think things over.
I don’t recall the author’s name, but I never want to meet anyone who’s able to think up things like that.
That would be cruel to leave them trapped like that. At least saw their feet off to free the body..

I noticed that the protestors cast booties into the concrete
and then slipped their feet into the pre-cast footwear. It
doesn’t have the same sense of commitment when the protesters
can remove there impediment as easily as slipping on a pair
of loafers.
These Darwin Award Greenies do some very strange things....they get together and then try to out compete eacg other on the protest line. They live is an imaginary world where no one dies or faces the causal consequences of theior own decisions.
They get really pished when the public laughs at the tragedy, instead of treating the foolish dead as “saints” who “sacrificed” for a leftist cause.
