Dwayne Johnson rocked a black mohair tailcoat and a bow tie paired with a matching pleated skirt as he walked down the 2026 Met Gala red carpet hand-in-hand with his wife, Lauren Hashian. When asked about the look, which was custom-made by designer Thom Browne, Johnson said it was in part inspired by Polynesian culture, in which the “most masculine men” wear skirts. The tailcoat featured over 350 meters of hand-pleated silk ribbons in a “skeletal composition,” according to the designer.

I was floor manager at a bar in Calgary in the late 80s, and Dwayne was working the front door. He whined about football and trying to make the cut etc and often would come find me to escort the unruly types out because of my abilities. Sadly, Keith Franke (”Adorable” Adrian Adonis, the gimmick was based on his middle name, Adonis) was killed on 4 July 1988 in a crash with a few other “professional wrestlers”. He was married to his wife Beatrice, and they had two daughters. Beatrice has often posted on social media photos of their grandchildren, including as a catcher in youth league baseball.
