It struck me earlier today that I have NOT written a regular check in years. Yes, I have written a few bank checks but as far as personal checks I can't think of any that I have written any in at least 5 and more likely 10 or more years. At one time in my life and in the lives of many others, writing checks were a frequent activity. However, after the onset of the Internet and doing transactions over the web my check writing activities dwindled further and further until it has reached ZERO except for the few times I needed to write bank checks for the transferal of larger than normal funds.
So WHEN was the last time you wrote a regular check? And are there people here who still write checks frequently? I can't even remember the last time I wrote a regular check and it could have been as long ago as 20 or 25 years.

I still write quite a few checks to pay bills, but do pay some bills online. I guess I’m in a transition zone between writing checks and mailing out bills, and just paying everything online
Probably over 10 years for me.
last week to pay the vent guy and electrician.
Checks go to charities- gel ink so if someone gets into the envelope they can’t “wash” it. Check to church every week. Most bills online - use internet facing account so no thievery will get much. All incoming pmts go to another account.
Last car I bought they took a wire transfer.
My wife hates that three percent tack-on with credit cards so she makes me write checks wherever possible.
2X/month to house cleaners.
2X/month to lawn guy.
2X/year to piano tech.
Doctor bills, remaining balance.
Church tithe.
My tax preparer charges for using cards, so I used to write three checks — one to the preparer, one for the feds, one for the state. Now that I’ve retired, I just write the first one.
Wrote one to our pool guy this week after his crew changed our pool liner (above ground pool). The previous one lasted 25 years!

Yesterday...and the day before...and last week. That’s okay...I am a dinosaur in these things.
“ Her sister must be the one where I shop. Never occurs to her to dig the checkbook out of her huge and cluttered purse until at least a minute after the final item has been rung up.” How.do you know what amount to write the check for until “the final item has been rung up “?
I write a check for my car insurance twice a year.
You can afford a stamp???
I write them every month. Not rare at all. We also receive our rent on rent houses by check.
Did that same lady have a purse full of coupons? Did she argue/discuss each coupon with the cashier?
Were half of the coupons expired?
When she "had to get her driver's license in the car" did she forget where she parked? Could not find her car for a while?
Did she bring in "rainchecks" from 1995?
Just use billpay. They send check in us mail. I pay nothing for that
All on web
excuse me, my checkbook is in the car... with my ID. I will be back right away!
Yesterday. Rent, church, wedding bill
When you pay by check the receiver gets about four percent more. Pay by check or cash when you can. Why should international financial groups get four percent of every transaction you make?
Yesterday. Verizon.
