It struck me earlier today that I have NOT written a regular check in years. Yes, I have written a few bank checks but as far as personal checks I can't think of any that I have written any in at least 5 and more likely 10 or more years. At one time in my life and in the lives of many others, writing checks were a frequent activity. However, after the onset of the Internet and doing transactions over the web my check writing activities dwindled further and further until it has reached ZERO except for the few times I needed to write bank checks for the transferal of larger than normal funds.
So WHEN was the last time you wrote a regular check? And are there people here who still write checks frequently? I can't even remember the last time I wrote a regular check and it could have been as long ago as 20 or 25 years.

Yesterday, I wrote a check to pay the water bill.
I still write checks to pay my HOA fee because I don’t want to pay the fee to do it electronically.
I wrote two checks in the three weeks, one for the guy that opened up our swamp cooler and another to the worker who fixed our broken gate. Neither one took credit cards.
Been a while since I’ve written a check, but the old lady in the checkout line in front of me writes one every time I go to the grocery store. The same lady who forgot her driver’s license in her car and has to go get it.
This morning wrote and mailed out 3
And two yesterday
So that is you behind me grumbling!
Still pay lots of things by check. the only thing i dont ever use is bitcoin and those other coins. i like writing checks...makes me feel in control of spending, even though it ain’t necessarily so. My Chinese wife cant write a check to save her life, but she pays her charges using various
Apple Iphone routings which i know nothing about.
Something I do every month with a few presses of the button. It's not only the writing of the check that seems to be too much effort but the mailing of it as well. Do they at least pay for free mailing or do you have to shell out for the stamp?
Day before yesterday.
I didn’t think you could hear me ;-)
We do that automatically. I think our fee is like $3 but writing and mailing checks now seem like too much of an interruption in our lives.

once per year to pay the IRS ...
Similar situation here but we paid for A/C repair and paid him via Zelle. Click click and we done!
I have one account that will only take payment by check. I have offered to set up direct payment from my bank but that requires my banks system to have their bank routing and account numbers, and for that reason they won’t allow it.
I do understand that the idea the technology will be safer and more secure is a lie, as billions more get stolen or scammed via the electronic systems every year, and way more than were “stolen checks” and the like in the past. I understand how those old enough to know that do not feel secure about today’s electronic systems.
I write a check every couple of week to my apprentice and that’s about it. In fact my last 4 check books (carbon copy) have all been to him.
Ditto but we fill out our returns online and pay electronically.
2 months ago to my daughter’s school for the Daddy/Daughter Dance.
