It struck me earlier today that I have NOT written a regular check in years. Yes, I have written a few bank checks but as far as personal checks I can't think of any that I have written any in at least 5 and more likely 10 or more years. At one time in my life and in the lives of many others, writing checks were a frequent activity. However, after the onset of the Internet and doing transactions over the web my check writing activities dwindled further and further until it has reached ZERO except for the few times I needed to write bank checks for the transferal of larger than normal funds.
So WHEN was the last time you wrote a regular check? And are there people here who still write checks frequently? I can't even remember the last time I wrote a regular check and it could have been as long ago as 20 or 25 years.

I’m actually going back and writing more of them now that everyone wants to charge me a service fee of 3-4% using a debit or credit card.
Screw that, it all adds up over time. You can now take the time to deposit it and wait for it to clear.
My conspiracy theory of the week is they are mailing the bills so late and not giving you any time to get them back by mail so you HAVE to use their automatic system or risk late charges, of course blamed on the USPS and not them holding it until past its due date.
I mean big companies would never slow walk their incoming mail to hit the bill payers with a hefty pure profit fee now would they? “Bueller? Bueller?”
Yes, I know from various postings over the years that we are simpatico on many issues!
I bought my last car with a personal check.
The dealership had a way of seeing the check clear right there at the desk.
Bingo Bango Bongo done.
Yesterday.
My company just wrote several checks yesterday
Many of our small-business suppliers still prefer them.
ACH/Wire transfers are very expensive, and while Venmo or Zelle may be popular to share dinner expenses with your friends, we see no online format which has yet gained a majority / popular position among small business.
Yesterday.
Four times a year for the vehicles because the DMV will charge me a fee to use my debit card.
So it’s the same old lady everytime you go to the store?....it’s a wonder you haven’t been arrested for stalking...LOL!
To home depot yesterday.
Just the day before yesterday.
Last week. Down to just 1 check a month now.
How long will you keep him indentured as an apprentice? That is a lot of checks.
How expensive? I do ach/lectronic checks with my crediters all the time and don’t get charges for it. Perhaps the creditors and my local water/sewer utility foot the bills?
Yes I get charged for paying by debit and credit cards but not by ach/e-checks.
When was the last time you sent a telegram or a hand written letter?
Psst! Zelle.
It was like my transition between having a cellphone as well as my old landline. Finally, I just said goodbye to my landline and haven't missed it since.
I wrote one yesterday.
About 4 hours ago. Five of them.
Couple days ago but it was about a year for the previous one. Also just found out about mobile uploardx of checks you may get to your account.
Not a fan of all this app shxt either with Zelle, Venmo and linking accounts etc. seems a havk away from being wiped out.
Some agencies charge a flat fee for using a credit card. I've mailed checks for the amount of one toll instead of using my credit card because the credit card fee was higher than the toll.
I've witnessed suffering from customers who had to go far out of their way from storm areas to buy necessities because the area they lived in didn't have electricity and businesses would only take cash or checks.
