(Apr. 12, 2026) — The news is full of foreign policy crises, scandals, conflicts, and trends in all directions.
However, a current case before the U.S. Supreme Court tops it all.
It’s the birthright citizenship case, which determines the future of our nation and what sort of country it will be.
Does the U.S. have sovereignty to confer its own citizenship, or does anyone from any point on the globe have the right to take it from us? Are we an autonomous nation or a colony of the world?
Under current policy, any child born on U.S. soil to a foreign mother (regardless of her citizenship or legal status) becomes an American citizen for life.
A female illegal alien can cross the border and give birth to a child five minutes later. That baby is now a U.S. citizen, with the eventual right to vote and bring in more foreign relatives.
It’s not just illegal aliens — well-off foreigners come to the U.S. on tourist visas, birth offspring, then return home with dual citizens.
Decades later, that child can return and claim all the benefits of U.S. citizenship.
It’s insane and the policy must be abolished.
In Mexico, where I resided for many years, U.S. citizenship is seen as a valuable possession.

Upholding ‘birthright’ citizenship IS subverting the Constitution dumba$$..
Illegals who come here to have their babies haven't declared allegiance to this country at all. That's only done when you become a citizen, so how can a child conceived in another nation, or conceived here and born of an illegal in this country, be considered a natural born citizen upon its birth? Their parents still owe allegiance to the country they came from, and no child of theirs born here is capable of swearing allegiance to this country. Those children only become citizens when their parents become naturalized U.S. Citizens.
I prefer the term “half citizen” instead of dual citizen...
It's now in the Supreme Court because Repukes have kicked the ball down the road for decades on this issue, just like they do with everything else. Gutless wonders.

So-called “dual citizenship” only amounts to a descriptive term, used loosely outside government, never within.
It’s never been recognized by our federal government as even existing. Which is to say, that, as far as the federal government is concerned, so-called “dual citizenship” is not even a “thing”. Accordingly it does not need to be abolished in any formal way.

Now South Africa is a shadow of its former self and Whites are being wiped out and murdered.
Why post this tale? Because that is the future for any country in the West which makes the same mistake. Africa has over a billion people, almost the only place in Earth where the population continues to grow. The countries there , for the most part , suck. The people, naturally, want to move to someplace better. Allow that to happen, like it did for South Africa and your fate is sealed.
Another item to add to the list for the Article V convention...
The Supreme Court will uphold birthright citizenship... So don’t waste your breath waiting for them to subvert the constitution.
The majority conservative members of the current court support and even enhance the constitution... What they never do is crap on it.

You know they are going to bungle this.
It is normally a long, arduous process, but the 1866 congress had an advantage over most other eras. They had occupation armies controlling the Southern states, and therefore the Southern states would rubber stamp anything they were ordered to pass.
Using guns to force states to vote certain ways is not how the framers envisioned constitutional amendments, I think.
But that is how it was done.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Do everybody a favor... Read the constitution before you start looking like you haven't when you make stupid statements.
Nope...from the colonial times handed down in my Family from 1797 the parents had to be born in USA. Otherwise you would be known as a possible British spy .. you can see it in the newspapers of the early 180O’s what Canadians crossing the border and Governor of New York threatening to invade Canada if they didn’t stop trying to sneak their people in to NY State to settle and have USA kids for citizenship .

A pregnant Canadian woman flies to Mexico for a vacation and just so happens to give birth mid flight that baby is now American (even if its against the parents wishes)

When I was in college a dual citizen (parents with different nationalities, usually one Canadian and one American) had to declare on or before their 18th birthday which one they would choose.
Dual affection is OK - dual nationality for adults should never have been allowed.
