California Gov. Gavin Newsom received intense blowback for calling the joint US-Israeli airstrikes in Iran an “illegal, dangerous war” while ripping President Trump’s decision to attack Tehran..
“The corrupt and repressive Iranian regime must never have nuclear weapons. The leadership of Iran must go,” Newsom wrote on X Saturday, after the US and Israel launched the coordinated strikes early that morning.
“But that does not justify the President of the United States engaging in an illegal, dangerous war that will risk the lives of our American service members and our friends without justification to the American people.
"President Trump is putting Americans at risk abroad because he is unpopular at home.”
The comments earned immediate criticism from those who questioned the potential 2028 presidential candidate‘s position.

He tries to get sympathy for not being able to read a speech (so he has to memorize them after his speechwriters test it out on focus groups with each word scrutinized).

Looking at this just from the political angle, Trump wins. This muddled response from Newsom is trying to have it both ways: yeah, the mullahs are bad and nukes are bad and have to go, but Trump shouldn't have done it... It's a critique that concedes the point.
Gavin is SUCH an accomplished leader and master of California state politics that we certainly must respect is foreign policy advice!!!😖😏
