Quote-It will make Space a very profitable opportunity instead of the money pit it is now. Another good reason is the preservation of Civilization itself. With people spread out all over the Solar System it becomes very difficult for humanity to destroy itself._____

I wonder how Jesus Christ feels about owning all the Galaxies. The human brain is yet to develop to the stage where it’s neurons can fathom that out. Frightening and incredible

Civilization and War have been tied together from the beginning. I’m convinced world capitalism and republics are the cure but it’s obvious too many people want something else for that to ever happen. With the invention of Hydrogen bombs we’ve been fortunate...so far. Rather than impossible dreams I rather have people spread out all over the Solar System. The vast distances involved mean some will survive most conflicts. Because space is so unforgiving of incompetence and self sufficiency is absolutely necessary Civilization will continue even in very bad times.

We know for a fact that the HOLY SPIRIT exists. The Holy Spirit ain’t human and that’s a fact. The earth’s atmosphere
cannot be replicated by mortals if the relative proportions of oxygen, Nitrogen etc were to be varied substantially.

Even getting to the next nearest star is centuries away, if ever. Going to Galaxies is even more challenging by orders of magnitude. The Solar System has plenty of room and resources to keep humanity occupied for many centuries. The last time humanity had an opportunity like this was after Columbus discovered the New World.

I don’t think there is a cure. I think universal coexistence and peace are pipe dreams. It’s it’s a fundamental property of existence.

Why? Because virtue is not universally granted. There will always be those who either lack it or reject it, those who seek to take from others rather than earn for themselves. Once you have that, war and strife become inevitable. But I would argue that the responsibility to seek virtue makes life worth living.

Nitrogen is essentially an inert element. Spacecraft use pure oxygen at 1/5 the pressure here in Earth. You still breath in the same amount of Oxygen with every breath but you only have to deal containing 1/5 of the pressure against the vacuum of space.

Exactly why expanding Civilization out into the Solar System is necessary if Civilization itself is going to survive. Mankind has possessed the means to destroy itself ever since the Hydrogen bomb was tested. It takes years to get to some places in the Solar System. The vast distances involved mean lots of places that will get left alone.

You can bet after the high IQ people have everything all set up to the point where they are comfortable the Low IQ people will try and move in because having the Solar System stolen from them was unfair!

Decades at least, meaning this is the best-case scenario. More realistically it will probably take centuries. But it will never be like Star Trek, where going from one star to another is like taking a flight from L.A. to Chicago.

Project Daedalus was a study conducted by the British Interplanetary Society to design a workable star ship using present-day knowledge and near-future technology. It was estimated they could achieve about 11% the speed of light, making a trip to Barnard's star in about 50 years a possibility. The cost, however, would be enormous.

So to say "It's impossible" is just not true.

Gotta get to the Epstein Drive level of propulsion technology first.

Evolution does not speak to the origin of life.

Yes but again, all my life I have heard that the origin of life was just a matter of lightning striking the right primordial pool at the right time. Then some creature would eventually emerge from the pool.

Here is an oversimplistic explanation:

“Because relativity is so difficult for students to understand, physics teachers invented a pedagogical concept called “relativistic mass.” Relativistic mass is simply γ times mass. You can then put relativistic mass into Einstein’s famous equation, and it looks like the familiar form.”

https://bigthink.com/hard-science/light-speed-relativistic-mass/

The simple answer is that it is impossible to travel greater than the speed of light, until we do it. We have achieved speeds up to 1/10th the speed of light in Particle Accelerators around the world, which is enough to actually test the physics of the concept. I will let you do further research on your on own if you are interested, but there are many papers written by Researchers at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) near Geneva, Switzerland.

I guess nobody told the birds that heavier than air flight was impossible...

Shhh... don't tell them that... don't need birds all walking all over the place, or God forbid, buying cars to get around...
