New York's Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez’s highest‑profile outing on the world stage yet at the Munich Security Conference last week has sharpened speculation about her long‑term political ambitions.
Newsweek has reached out to Ocasio‑Cortez via email for comment.
Why It Matters
Ocasio‑Cortez’s emergence on an international platform comes as Democrats begin to look beyond President Donald Trump's time in office and toward a generational reshaping of party leadership.
How seriously she is taken as a future contender is increasingly reflected in both betting odds and prediction markets.
What To Know
Ocasio‑Cortez’s trip to Germany marked her most prominent international appearance to date, placing the New York congresswoman alongside world leaders and senior policymakers at one of the world's most closely watched global security forums.
She has defended the purpose of her trip and rejected suggestions that it was about positioning herself for a White House run.
**SNIP**
Star Sports currently lists Ocasio‑Cortez at 12/1 to win the 2028 U.S. presidential election, placing her behind Vice President JD Vance and California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, but ahead of a wide field of potential contenders.

It is high time the American people are reminded what an intelligent likeable women IS. Tulsi needs to tour and speak to MAGA.
If milksop republicans don’t pass the SAVE act, she will surely be “elected” president.
Because that is where their owners are - in foreign countries.
You just tested my memory - it’s Formosa.
To know this you’d either have to be an old fart or an educated younger person with an interest in history.
And AOC would not know the answer for she is dumber than dumb.
She would object herself right into the hands of Russian and Chinese communists...whats to worry? ( sarc.)
Its Dem leftist Pu$$Y Power.
The Formosa straits is what used to be called the water between Taiwan and mainland commie land.
An AOC is presidential timber now in America? Seriously? C’mon.
She had better hurry. Her shelf life is limited.
She's well qualified to produce and post "content" on 0nly F@n$ ...
HAVING BEEN RAISED ON A FARM & OWNING HORSES FOR OVER 40 YEARS:
I CAN PROMISE YOU : YOU CANNOT POLISH A TURD.
I thought she extended this to 12 years?
Must have been incorrect information...
I want to see an AOC-Kamala debate with no scripts.

We probably should stop asking if democrats could possibly nominate anyone more stupid than Biden, Kamala and Tampon Tim.
They think it's a challenge!

The more stupid one looks in public, the more the Democrats like you. How could they not love AOC?
As I always say, Ocasio‑Cortez should go back to bartending at a taqueria!
Better question: Why does the MSM focus on professional politicians rather than the leading possibilities for Democrat candidate for president?
Currently Stephen A Smith, ESPN commentator is in the lead by far among voters. Mark Cuban is probably second. None of the career politicians can beat them in an honest primary.
each is about as capable as AOC.
On the contrary, Stephen A Smith and Mark Cuban are far more capable than a coctail waitress...or is she a bar maid...or a wench in olde English terms.
