WOW 🚨 California is tracking down former residents and making sure they actually left to try and collect taxes

California is demanding full details on their move down to the vehicle used and moving invoices

“How you know the state of California is hurting. This is the letter they just sent me — Please provide a brief narrative of events and circumstances surrounding you becoming a non-resident of California with your response. Provide the specific move out dates as it was not reported.

7 years ago, California 540 non-resident return for each shipment of households, personal vehicle, Etc. Items from California to Texas during the period. They want to know how we got everything from California to Texas. They want to see complete moving invoices. Any proof that we have of when we left and why we left.

Because they want to tax me. Good luck”

I got a jury notice for Georgia even though I have lived in NC, had an NC driver license, voted in NC and owned several houses in the past 10 years.

The child I spoke with at the courthouse insisted I was still registered to vote in Georgie and had a DL in Georgia. I called the election board and the DMV in Ga and they both affirmed that everything was canceled when I left for NC ten years ago, proving that she was a lying garbage human being.

I called this idiot back and relayed the information and she said a warrant would be issued for my arrest if I didn’t show.

Didn’t NY make Rush prove that he had spent a majority of his time in FL, even making him provide dates and receipts?

Keepin’ it real. You’ll get street cred for posting that. People will go to school on it.

I’m 79. All my life I feared and hated the jury system. Your story increases awareness for others which is good.
I remember a person at work saying: “If I don’t show up they will put me in jail. The guilty criminal may get off on a technicality but the jury selection victims definitely go to jail.”

If the system were fair and random, which it is NOT, then how did one woman at work and my mother get called to THREE different juries over about four years? Other people have never been called in their lives.

Your message would only work as in the battle against the Barbary pirates “I want any further messages to them to be sent from the mouth of my cannon.” (Ship commander Captain William Bainbridge agreeing with Thomas Jefferson who refused to pay the pirates. “Millions for defense but not one penny for tribute.”)

Could have, I just recall him saying that he wouldn’t step foot in NY because it opened legal and tax issues for him so it was easier to just avoid.

I would tell them I refuse to respond.

I wonder what would happen next?

old news, VERY old news: CA has been sending out these letters since at least 2021 ...

[best thing to do if you get one is to just throw it away ... eventually CA will give up on mailing empty threats]

Nothing new here. Lived in Cali for a little over a year. When I moved away they claimed I worked them more taxes nearly a year after I had moved.and that was over 25 years ago.

The people’s republic of California hasn’t changed a bit

I’d tell them to go ahead and send it; when they figure out you were right to begin with you have a very nice financial settlement in your future.

I told her to come and get me. I also told her I would call our sheriff and my congressional rep and let them know of her threats against a citizen of NC. She said something to the effect of , ‘I’ll let it slide for now and give you a waiver for now...’

The audacious lies of me still being on the Ga voter role when I had been GONE for ten years and also that I had a valid DL in Ga when that was an outright lie is just mind boggling.

Of course, Ga allowed my husband’s and MIL’s votes to be STOLEN three times with ZERO interest in getting to the bottom of it so....whatever. Let them come for me.

But CA doesn’t care about stealing from the US Gov.

If justice is done someday that woman may get hers. Doesn’t always work that way and we good folks may have to give a little push to get the universe’s system to work right.

Gosh. I’m trying to remember the last time I had a layover in SFO or LAX. At the rate it’s sliding into bedlam, Cali will probably try to tax my total income prorated for the length of my stay.

Back in the 1980's California decided to tax retirement income for anybody who ever worked, even for a short period of time, in California. That included military people who were stationed there as well as those who were Temporary Duty (TDY). I had been TDY to California for a total of 30 weeks over three different times, but they were going to make me pay once I retired.

I think it went through the courts but it was shot down.
