I got a jury notice for Georgia even though I have lived in NC, had an NC driver license, voted in NC and owned several houses in the past 10 years.

The child I spoke with at the courthouse insisted I was still registered to vote in Georgie and had a DL in Georgia. I called the election board and the DMV in Ga and they both affirmed that everything was canceled when I left for NC ten years ago, proving that she was a lying garbage human being.

I called this idiot back and relayed the information and she said a warrant would be issued for my arrest if I didn’t show.

I’m 79. All my life I feared and hated the jury system. Your story increases awareness for others which is good.
I remember a person at work saying: “If I don’t show up they will put me in jail. The guilty criminal may get off on a technicality but the jury selection victims definitely go to jail.”

If the system were fair and random, which it is NOT, then how did one woman at work and my mother get called to THREE different juries over about four years? Other people have never been called in their lives.

I’d tell them to go ahead and send it; when they figure out you were right to begin with you have a very nice financial settlement in your future.
