A January survey from Harvard University and The Harris Poll found that a slight majority of respondents believe that former President Biden was more effective than President Trump.
The poll, released Monday, found that 51 percent of respondents said Trump is doing a worse job than Biden, while 49 percent said the president is doing a better job than his predecessor. The same survey conducted in December found that 53 percent of respondents said Trump is faring better than Biden did.
The latest results also mark a stark reversal from February 2025, when 58 percent of respondents to the Harvard-Harris poll said that Trump was faring better than Biden.
Both leaders are underwater with respondents, with Trump viewed unfavorably by 8 percent more respondents than those who viewed him favorably and Biden viewed unfavorably by 10 percent more respondents than those who viewed him favorably.
Trump and his administration have faced scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers and the American public in the wake of the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens by federal immigration officers in Minneapolis last month.
The latter of the two incidents, the Jan. 24 shooting of Alex Pretti by Customs and Border Protection agents, prompted the president to send White House border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota to take over the federal immigration enforcement operation there.

The Hill doesn’t know how elections work.
Campaigns over. Trump isn’t going anywhere
Call only voters in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. What else would you expect? I doubt more than 5% of the calls were outside blue states.
Any polls done on behalf of The Hill are immediately suspect. First they determine the desired outcome, then they go through the responses to eliminate unfavorable replies, and consolidate the results so it LOOKS like a plausible summation.
And magically, the poll says exactly what the projected outcome called for.
Yep. Push polls for political propaganda.
Harvard?
Puh leeze.
Did they poll the Economics Department or the Foreign Affairs experts?
Fake DNC fundraising polls.
B S
Sure! And Kamala coulda beat George Washington too
Sorry I don’t believe the poll. There are much smarter people here at FR that can decipher this and tell us the bottom line.
Candidate Trump played the polling game to the tune of three victories.
Trump is no longer a candidate.
Even if there were some accuracy to them, he could care less.
To use a sporting analogy, he is playing out his last term at his own pace and is not going to be acting or reacting according to any stinkin’ polls.
Another bullshit, deliberately skewed poll.
Hey, don’t forget Peeps!
I always thought this would be a great ending to a meal at a fine French restaurant but, in spite of many requests, have yet to see “Le Peep” on the menu.
December 2024 ~~
President-elect Donald Trump is suing the Des Moines Register newspaper, along with its parent company and its former pollster, for “brazen election interference” over a poll published days before the 2024 presidential election.
The 2 November poll suggested Democratic nominee Kamala Harris would win Iowa, a predominantly Republican state.
Trump filed the lawsuit fresh off the victory of having ABC News settle a defamation lawsuit for $15m (£12m), over an anchor falsely saying Trump was found liable for rape last year (he was liable for sexual abuse).

In January 2026, Donald Trump escalated his criticism of pollsters, reacting to a New York Times/Siena College poll showing his approval rating at 40% and widespread disapproval of his handling of key issues like the economy and immigration.
He announced plans to add the poll to his existing $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, calling the Times Siena Poll “tremendously negative” and accusing the outlet of producing “fake results” and “Radical Left lies.”
My 2 words “Big Brother” Or perhaps “Mainstream Media”.
Harvard Harris is not credible.
A totally worthless poll by a totally worthless source.
Cameltoe Harris Poll?
Most voters? Doing worse? You may choose to ignore reality but you can't force reality to ignore you.
PresidentvTrump would still win with 322 Electoral Votes over Harris today.
Who did they poll?
Black lesbians in Berkeley?
