Jack in the Box is expected to shutter several restaurants in the coming days, as it works to meet the closure target outlined in its “JACK on Track” strategy earlier this year.

Early this year, the fast-food chain said it would be shutting between 150 and 200 locations under a block closure program, including 80 to 120 by December 31. According to Fox Business, Jack in the Box has closed 72 stores since the April announcement.

“Jack in the Crack” serves horrible excuses for food”

Mostly, but there are some grilled chicken options including salads which aren’t horrible unhealthy or gross tasting.

It can be argued that the requirement to employ the minimum wage caused costs to rise to the point products were unsalable.

Since sales became impossible to support the venture, the venture must cease to exist.

I didn't realize they were still in business.

Didn't they close most locations decades ago? Or am I confusing them with someone else?

Gosh, it's almost as if other ethnic cuisines, plus veganazism, are taking over California.

“ The “Panera” case was straight out of Animal Farm.
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
Panera is by definition fast food. They have them here in TX and I have been once or twice.
How they got a deferment from being called “fast food” prevented them from paying the idiot mandatory $20 per hour fee in California.
Panera is not fast food? In what world?
You see if you donate enough to Governor Newscum they change the definition of words.
Only in California or NY….

I just saw a 2 tacos for 75¢ anniversary price on TV recently. You can only order from the app.

Maybe the workers will go to McDonalds in Lost Angeles for $20.00 an hour or a hotel for $30.00 an hour.

Per LA Tims Trump causing inflation.

Back in the 1970s, there was a Jack in the Box in Maitland, FL, and my family ate there regularly. When it closed, I did not see or hear from that company for the next fifty years. Then last summer I discovered a Jack in the Box in Louisville, and I thought I would order dinner from them to see how things have changed. The changes weren’t for the better. Jack in the Box is NOT fast food anymore; I had to wait half an hour in the drive-through lane for my order! Therefore I don’t see myself visiting Jack in the Box again anytime soon.

What about meat? Taxes , rent? They go up so why is it labor that gets all the attention?

*********

To a degree labor how ever you define it is a large part of
prices. It may be human, animal or some form of machinery,
gov’t, profit etc. but all that is included in what is the final
product cost.

Wrong. In fast food labor is 28 %. The cost of food rent insurance have all gone thru the roof. No restaurant ever went out of business because the non labor costs went to high. You fail.

You miss what I was saying.

Labor from the beginning to the end has gone up.
That includes land ownership, labor to plant/harvest,
process, transport, taxes. etc, etc, all the way from
the seed to the mouth that is eating it. Have a good-en.

Sorry you are wrong. The price of meat and buns already has the cost of labor built in.

Rising wages used to be a sign of prosperity. Now it’s considered a crises. This anti working class attitude is aiding the USAs march to socialism.
