The other five bills cover the departments of Defense, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Labor and Education and would keep the departments funded through September.
The deal comes after the Senate voted against advancing the six-bill package earlier Thursday in a 55-45 vote, which would have completed the annual appropriations cycle.

The department announced earlier this month that it was reviewing the cases of 5,600 refugees in Minnesota who had not formally received a green card as a part of its crackdown on fraud in immigrant communities.

The department announced earlier this month that it was reviewing the cases of 5,600 refugees in Minnesota who had not formally received a green card as a part of its crackdown on fraud in immigrant communities.
U.S. District Judge John Tunheim told the Trump administration that the arrests did not make sense because none of them were charged with grounds for removal. He ordered the immediate release of the detained and arrested refugees.
“These refugees have undergone rigorous background checks and vetting, been approved by multiple federal agencies for entry, been given permission to work, received support from the government, and been resettled in the United States,” he wrote, according to the Washington Times. “None have been deemed a danger to the community or a flight risk.”
Tunheim also barred the administration from arresting or detaining future refugees.

“I hope it doesn’t come to that, but that’s, I think, what you’re seeing now is the ability to posture assets in the region to defend against what could be an Iranian threat against our personnel,” he added.
Rubio also told senators that he believes the Iranian regime is “weaker than it has ever been.”
The comments come as the United States and its allies prepare for President Donald Trump to authorize attacks on Iran in the wake of Iran’s brutal crackdown against anti-regime protests and its possible retaliation, according to The Hill.

A doctor in Argentina has been suspended from his job at a hospital in Buenos Aires after posting antisemitic messages on social media that included explicit calls for violence against Jews.
The suspension of Miqueas Martinez Secchi, a resident physician specializing in intensive care at José de San Martín Hospital in La Plata, marks yet another example of rising antisemitism in health-care settings across the West.
“Instead of performing circumcision, their carotid artery and main artery should be cut from side to side,” Secchi wrote in one post.
The medical professional’s antisemitic online activity was exposed by journalist and commentator Dani Lerer, who posted the graphic messages on the social media platform X.
The posts prompted widespread outrage, leading Secchi to delete his social media account — but not before other users were able to save screenshots.

I don’t know how this works because it is the SCOTUS decision called Printz v USA, I think, that allows it.
In other words, that decision says that cities do not need to use their resources t help[ the federal government. It has to do with “commandeering”.
So the law might say sanctuary cities are not allowed, but unless SCOTUS overturns that decision or more narrowly defines it, then how does this work?
