Johnson wrote, โ€œIt is without question that the Unaffordable Care Act has failed the American peopleโ€ and stated that Republicans are working to fix the Democratโ€™s mess.

The GOP has had many chances to do so but they always run into an insurmountable obstacle: one of their biggest donor groups - insurance companies - love the ACA as it is and will spend big to prevent change.

I wonder if the speaker remembers when John McCain voted to save it by voting no, Pepperidge Farms remembers

Wow! *Slow clap*

Huzzah for noticing. Now if only our charter of government had some sort of provision for elected officials to repeal bad laws.

Who answers the phone at 800-F1uck You? (you don’t need to dial the ‘u’) That should tell you everything you need to know about the unAffordable wedon’tCare Act. Bathhouse Barry’s puppet masters just needed to control health care and a big piece of the economy. There was always only one way it would turn out.

When will people learn that the gov’t can’t do anything as efficiently as the private sector. Gov’t should not be in the insurance business (especially flood insurance), banking (SBA, student loans), railroad (AMTRAC), or any other business performed by the private sector. Reason: They have absolutely NO reason to be efficient. Even an idiot can buy a hammer for $600.

True; but Republicans need to convince the voters to elect legislators who agree. Meanwhile, medical care for people who really need it should not be held hostage to the competing proposals.

We already know that Mike. We also know you won’t do anything worth squat to fix it.

0care is not getting repealed and replaced. Speaker Johnson said on Fox news it was too “deeply ingrained” to rip it out from the roots like he wishes he could. Sure Mike.

Republicans ran for many years on repeal/replace Obamacare, just vote for us. We did, gave them the house and senate and white house. And then they admitted it was a lie and buried the issue.

I guess they are assuming they will lose the mid terms so they are trying to bring back that lie again. They will do nothing now, then in 2027 they will whine that they need to get voted in to make changes to Obamacare. It's all the same stuff that we saw in Trump's first term.

The very Cuban and very Republican city of Hialeah (not far from me) has the highest density of Obamacare subscribers in the country.

Without a replacement, the expected bump in Democrat prospects for the midterms will become a tsunami.

End the filibuster. Replace Obamacare with a free market solution and catastrophic coverage that is affordable. Get election reform done. Implement President Trump's executive orders as LAW. Pass new laws to make sure illegal immigration is dealt with. Authorize the use of the military to remove all illegals. Redo the census and make sure only American citizens can vote, and that representation is proportionate.

When Coke made a mistake in coming out with “new coke”
When Cracker Barrel made a mistake....
When many corporations and individuals make mistakes
They admit their mistake and try to move forward.

Obamacare is a mistake...so obvious to everyone.
But is any politician willing to admit that politicians made a mistake? No. It seems like they try every way to avoid saying “The government made a mistake” or “Congress and the President made a mistake.”

The federal taxpayer share of the premium increased gradually from 68 percent of the premium in 2014 to nearly 80 percent in 2020. As a result of the COVID credits, the federal taxpayer share of the premium reached 93 percent from 2021 through 2025. Next year, when the COVID credits expire, the federal share will exceed 80 percent. Because enrollees pay only a small slice of the premium, insurers face virtually no price disciplineโ€”giving them incentives to inflate costs rather than improve value.

A Florida executive pleaded guilty today for his role in a scheme to submit fraudulent applications to enroll consumers in Affordable Care Act insurance plans (ACA plans) that were fully subsidized by the government. The purpose of the scheme was to obtain millions of dollars in commission payments from the insurance company that operated the ACA plans.
