The sprawling defense bill passed in a bipartisan 312-112 split, according to The Hill. Ninety-four Democrats and 18 Republicans opposed the bill.
The passage was more bipartisan than the vote to advance it earlier Wednesday, which saw all Republicans except Kentucky GOP Rep. Thomas Massie vote in favor of the legislation.
The over 3,000-page bill is considered a compromise because it includes language to require the Pentagon to hand over “unedited video of strikes conducted against designated terrorist organizations in the area of responsibility of the United States Southern Command.”

Homan told Newsmax that he was investigating whether Omar committed immigration fraud and is thereby in the country illegally. Omar first came to the United States with her family in the 1990s, according to her Congressional biography.

Time since the abortion (mean 20 years, range 0-31 years) was not correlated with PAD (r = -.02, p .71),” the authors wrote in the abstract. “PAD did not diminish but persisted for decades.”
Among the women surveyed, 31.2% reported frequent feelings of loss, grief or sadness, while 24.6% described frequent thoughts, dreams or flashbacks. Nearly half — 47.9% — indicated high distress on at least one measure, and 11% met criteria for at least four symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress.

France: Muslim migrant nanny poisons food of Jewish family in Paris
An Algerian woman under an order to leave French territory is standing trial in Nanterre for allegedly poisoning the food of a Jewish family who had employed her as a live-in nanny.
The case, described by investigators as without precedent in France, involves a couple and their three young children aged two, five, and seven.
The investigation began after the mother of the family reported a series of alarming incidents in late January 2024. Dishes and drinks had unusual smells or tasted of cleaning products, and makeup remover had burned her eyes.
Suspecting foul play, the family reported the Algerian national to the police. Further allegations were made when the family’s 5-year-old told the authorities she had witnessed the nanny pouring a substance into a bottle of alcohol labelled “Jerusalem.”
Toxicology tests confirmed their suspicions, revealing significant traces of polyethylene glycol and other chemical agents in multiple food and drink items. The substances used were “harmful, even corrosive, and can cause serious injuries to the digestive tract,” according to the committal order.

Only months later and indirectly did we hear that it was a “criminal matter.” A month later, locks were cut at the aqueduct that supplies water to Greater Boston.

Mohammed Ali, aged 23, was arrested after the person he abused disclosed the sexual abuse which had been going on for a number of years to us.
When we arrested Ali, from Onisbury Road, Handsworth, we discovered 443 indecent images and videos on his phone, 250 of these being category A.
At Birmingham Crown Court on 27 November, Ali pleaded guilty to eight charges of rape, four of those being the rape of a boy under 13. He also pleaded guilty to three charges of distributing indecent images of a child.
He was handed an 18 year jail term, 12 years to be served in custody and six on license.

The 2500-strong Radwan Force, trained and equipped by Iran’s Islamic Guard (IRGC), spearheads Hezbollah’s terrorist campaign on Israel’s border with Lebanon. In recent months, the Radwan operatives have been leading the charge in restoring the terrorist buildup on the Israeli border.

Miami’s mayoral election has been framed as a political earthquake, but those sweeping claims don’t hold water. They do, however, evince the ignorance of all too many, across party lines, about the actual power structure in the city, Miami-Dade County, and Florida.

What happened in the mayoral runoff deserves attention, but it is hardly the warning siren some Democrat operatives want it to be, nor is it a reason for Republicans to panic. Miami politics simply don’t function the way national narratives assume.

Let’s start with what this race actually was. The “nonpartisan” mayor of Miami holds a largely ceremonial role. Real executive authority rests with the city manager, who can only serve with the approval of the five-member city commission. That “nonpartisan” commission currently has a stable 3-2 Republican majority.

The mayor may nominate a manager, but the commission decides who ultimately runs the city. Power isn’t shifting in some theatrical way.

Beyond that, the partisan landscape inside the city is very different from the broader county. Miami voters lean blue by registration, with over 61,000 Democrats to roughly 53,000 Republicans. That imbalance has kept the city competitive for Democrats even as Republicans increasingly dominate Miami-Dade County itself.

Donald Trump won Miami-Dade by double-digits in 2024, taking over 55 percent of the vote. Yet he narrowly lost the municipality of Miami, a reminder that the Magic City’s elections sit on different political terrain.

Those differences matter because they show that a Democrat winning the Miami mayor’s race isn’t a shocking anomaly. It reflects the city’s registration edge and its habit of splitting from its surrounding communities. That environment helped Eileen Higgins secure 60 percent in the runoff. It ended a long GOP streak in a ceremonial office, but it didn’t alter the county’s political center of gravity.

Republicans still hold a plurality countywide, with roughly 448,732 registered GOP voters versus about 407,343 Democrats as of November 30.

Looking at what happened just one year earlier underscores how strong Republicans remain in Miami-Dade. In 2024, the GOP swept every partisan countywide office: sheriff, clerk of courts, property appraiser, supervisor of elections, and tax collector. These victories mirrored Trump’s concurrent 55.2 percent countywide performance.
