Bishops Blast Trump on Immigration, but Not Biden on Abortion
The American Spectator ^ | November 15, 2025, 10:19 PM | S.A. McCarthy

If we’re being honest, it could just be that immigration is a lucrative issue for the bishops, while defending the unborn is not.

America’s Catholic bishops are once again focusing their energies on immigration concerns, subtly undermining the Catholic Church’s teachings on the subject, while highlighting their hypocrisy on the defense of the unborn.

The bishops might have a little more moral credibility on the issue had they authored a similar letter lamenting the never-heard cries of children boiled alive by saline solutions.

Last week, 216 members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted in favor of publishing a “special message” to President Donald Trump and his administration, criticizing the administration’s immigration agenda. “We are disturbed when we see among our people a climate of fear and anxiety around questions of profiling and immigration enforcement. We are saddened by the state of contemporary debate and the vilification of immigrants,” the bishops wrote.

Despite obstacles and prejudices, generations of immigrants have made enormous contributions to the well-being of our nation. We as Catholic bishops love our country and pray for its peace and prosperity. For this very reason, we feel compelled now in this environment to raise our voices in defense of God-given human dignity.

“Catholic teaching exhorts nations to recognize the fundamental dignity of all persons, including immigrants. We bishops advocate for a meaningful reform of our nation’s immigration laws and procedures. Human dignity and national security are not in conflict,” the bishops complained. It is true, protecting and preserving the nation’s sovereignty, security, and homogeneity does not necessitate stripping others of human dignity.

The issue, however, is that the Trump administration has not behaved barbarously towards aliens and has, in fact, upheld the human dignity not just of aliens (recall, if you will, Border Czar Tom Homan discussing how immigration enforcement...

If the Church was a church, it would focus on saving souls.
But the Church isn’t much of a church. It’s just a political outfit.

Look at the effect of the Catholic vote on America and know why it was an immigration problem in the 1800s and since 1964.

Whatever the motivation is, illegal immigration and birth control are both clearly addressed in Church teaching, published in the easy-for-the-laity-to-read Catechism, priority given for any logical person to decipher

Maybe someone in the administration should remind these idiot bishops that these individuals are illegal alien invaders, NOT “immigrants.” And that many of them are violent criminals.

Put them all on one-way flights to Rome.
There is plenty of room in St. Peter’s Basilica and in St. Peter’s Square.

I would appear that human trafficking in the form of illegal aliens is a profit center for the USCCB.

This has little to do with immigration and everything to do with TDS.

The Bishops are members of a corrupt political organization which is masquerading as a church.

The Roman Catholic “Church” is corrupted from the top down.
No offense to God-fearing Catholics, but the Vatican is full of wickedness.
Cling to Christ, not to the institutions of men.

PS - the Protestants are no better. It’s a very sad thing.

Much more money in facilitating illegal immigration through NGO vs Pro life advocacy. RCINC always follows the money. It is after all the oldest most profitable multinational corporation on the planet.

Notice how they always cry poverty but always manage to find the funds to hire 600$/hr defense attorneys to smearruin the reputation of the victims of sexual abuse by their employees (aka priests) in deposition, friendly media and subsequent trial

Catholic “Charities” is a massively government taxpayer funded NGO ie. boondoggle. It is widely reported reported that they were up to their elbows in recruiting illegals, helping organize the caravans and helping illegals disappear once across the border. And where does all this money end up? Not in the pockets of the illegal aliens for sure, but in the salaries and budgets of the Catholic Church (and for the record I’m a Catholic). The USCCB is A. A bunch of hogs squealing because their money is not flowing from the taxpayers into their trough, and B. A group of hard core socialists whose agenda is, with the possible exception of abortion, the same as or to the left of the Democrat party.
