Overall a Horrible Election Day. What Happened?
Self | Nov 5, 2025 | Fwdude

We apparently are not on a roll with some kind of conservative momentum. Leftist Democrats of the worst kind made inroads into political power yesterday.

— NYC elects a radical Muslim. — Virginia threw out all reason and elected radical leftists to the Governorship and Attorney General, who had made violent threats. — Democrats flipped two red seats in MS breaking the Republican supermajority. — in my neck of the woods, Texas senate district 9 is going to a run-off after a DEM bested two Republicans for a plurality of votes.

This was surprising as the polling place I revisited was packed to the gills in an off-off-year election in a conservative area. Overall, there were no spectacular Republican victories to make inroads into Democrat comtrol. I don’t think this bodes ill for the 2026 mid-terms.

I don’t think it’s time for doom — but it was bad.

Only a fool went into last night thinking the Dems were going to win VA and NJ Gov.... but I’ll admit, I was shocked the loathsome and unqualified Jay Jones won AG in VA. Not to mention — 13... 13! House of Delegate flips in Virginia, including some pretty red seats.

What’s more - look at Georgia. Yeah, I doubt lots of Georgians even knew there was an election, but the Rats flipped the only two statewide offices on the ballot.

Lots of local races - mayors, school boards, etc flipped too.

Whistling past the graveyard isn’t going to help with the midterms.

What happened is frankly, it’s standard “it’s the economy, stupid” stuff. Now, I hate that - THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT AND SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU! But it is what it is.

I dislike a lot of the DJT economic program - but because I believe in pure capitalism, government out of the boardroom, and individual economic liberty. The problem is that he’s using old school Rat policies - a nanny state government that owns industry, that controls trade, etc. They didn’t work before, they won’t work now. And the GOP paying the price implementing policies and making promises that won’t deliver *from the Rat playbook*.

In Georgia, far left Democrats took both Public Service Commission seats, ousting the long-timed Republicans. Those seats had been held by the Republicans for 25 years.

Remember, these elections were in heavily democrat areas

Not really. There were several elections in solid red areas where Republicans underperformed. One was my state senate district. Leading R - 36%. Leading Dem - 48%. Heading for a runoff, but the Dems are obviously motivated when Republicans are not.

Georgia had the same problem last night. Typically, Republican seats were lost. It wasn’t even close.

Hello

Are you clueless .

It was all Dem states and Dems won .

You fell for the psych ops from a DEM pollster and Media setting you up
with ridiculous expectation .

A Trump pollster stated it was going to be a Dem election sweep in the NY Post
on Monday .

Taking it with a grain of salt this morning, Virginia, New Jersey and New York City is not a very broad region and definitely blue team territory.

The Democrats are outing themselves as socialists. That will not end well.

They outed themselves as violent socialists/communists long before this election, and people still voted for them by massive margins. Their “moderate” masks have been off for a long time. That is alarming.

Mississippi lost two Republican seats to democrats losing supermajority. Georgia also lost two seats that flipped to democrats. Virginia flipped 13 seats so far.

You can’t put lipstick on this pig.

The communist victories didn’t come cheaply for them. They shelled out zillions of dollars with almost 24/7 advertising in both New York and California. Wall to wall brainwashing, behavioral conditioning

(I suspect they’d have won both NY mayor and Calif republican- disenfranchisement elections, anyway, without all the ads. After all, they control the election processes and vote tallies in both places. But truly the worst part of these “elections” was seeing Obama’s face in the boob - toob all day and all night in wall to wall ads — yuck!)

There was some hope for Maryland and Virginia but zero hope NYC would go red. It’s a city of 8 million and those 3 were the best candidates? Really? Could there possible be some organization behind the selection? It would have to be a large national group with plenty of money and power. Wonder what that organization could be.

These are pretty deep blue jurisdictions. If you’re going to buy the pre-election hype, which is designed to get clicks, I guess you can be thrown off by these results. Also, neither the White House or congress are in election mode.

When voters figure out they can get more free stuff by electing socialists, that is the beginning of end of a Republic.

All this talk we've been hearing for months about how the Democrats are imploding and falling out of favor with the American people has proven to be nonsense.

The Democrat party has been taken over by radical, energized, violent leftists who hate traditional America and is as dangerous as ever to our freedom and the future of this country.

The GOP, as always, kids itself. They still treat Trump and the America First movement as an outlier, an interloper. The GOP then runs right back to squish mode that sells out the voters by running a “managed decline” type campaign.

In NJ, they said “hey, look how close we came in 2024!! We can flip this gate red”

We? No, Trump came close. Sure, Jack! almost beat Murphy. But almost isnt the story there. He should have destroyed him with all the post Covid anger hanging around.

He was, is and will ever be a weak candidate who ran a typical RINO style campaign that hasn’t been effective since 2018.

And what did Jack! do? He kept Trump away. How did that one work out for ya.

I have to admit, I was somewhat wrong about NJ. I said it would be called ten minutes after the polls closed. It took 43.

Some other bites: the “deep blue” thing isn’t quite true. All three leftwing PA Supreme Court Judges won. The Dems flipped 13 seats in the VA house in red districts. This isn’t good.

See my previous post on this thread. Trump’s unexpectedly narrow margin of defeat in New Jersey in 2024 apparently fooled a lot of people into believing that a GOP candidate had any chance in hell of winning the governor’s race in 2025.

New Jersey is about as Blue as a state can get, and it’s only getting darker Blue as Democrats flee from New York City to escape the dystopian Marxism there.

One major concern I have with New Jersey is we badly underperformed the polls.

That is what fooled many of us.

Blue areas usually produce blue results during elections and they didn’t disappoint. But one aspect is how morally low they have gone with the type of candidates they have chosen. Reflective of Romans 1:28.
