Acid reflux - too many antibiotics that kill good gut bacteria.

I can handle stress, I learned to do that long ago, because of the IBD. The GERD is common among people with IBD. PLUS, I retired 5 years ago. Less stress.

I AGREE WITH YOU about the vicious cycle- indeed, Elaine Gottschall years ago wrote a book CALLED Break the Vicious Cycle in which she chronicled the SCD, the Specific Carbohydrate Diet ,not designed by her, but administered by her to her daughter, who suffered from Ulcerative Colitis, with significant results. Stress does play a significant role in exacerbating UC- it did for me early on. I have been dealing with this for 31 years, but I learned how to handle the stress- that’s 100% mental. I just changed how I deal with things on a day to day basis, PLUS, I’ve been extremely fortunate to have pretty good insurance. Believe me, that’s helped cut down on the stress, lol.

I don’t know whether you intended everyone who didn’t open the link to go off on acid reflux, but not opening the link seems increasingly to be the standard around here. And it’s a shame.

I don’t know how, because I have beaucoups of family in the South, but I had never heard this guy James Gregory before. But because of your link, I just watched several of his videos for most of an hour and laughed and laughed! Whatever you intended, thanks for the post!

Diet, lack of exercise, and stress.

Polio, tb are INFECTIOUS diseas.
Acid reflux is due to incompetence of the esophageal sphincter allowing stomach acid to go into esophagus, where it doesn’t belong(causes erosion of tissue and/”heartburn”. It’s a disease ...not all diseases are infectious in nature
I do agree that alcoholism and addiction are solvable through character, habit reform ..would use the term, “self induced chemical poisoning”. Obesity would be”overfeeding syndrome” or some kind of term like that
IMHO

Is having a broken leg a "disease"?

If they can’t, then why on Earth do they become so widespread now?

Because they can be treated rather then people just dropping over dead.

When people have strokes we can actually treat them and, if done fast enough, can restore them to close to normal condition. This can happen several times.

Back a thousand years ago you got elf shot only once and you died.

I was on Prilosec for nearly 20 years, I quit using it. Started eating sauerkraut, cut back the bread and carbs, and it disappeared. Sometimes it comes back, usually after a Holiday meal. I will take a Prilosec for a day or two, and it goes away for months at a time. Shots of diluted vinegar, and pickle juice also helps, along with vegetable and protein diets. NO TO POTATOES, CHIPS, or cheap grocery store breads.

Yeah, those cheap grocery store breads. I can’t eat anything like those Pillsbury pop and serve things, crescent rolls and stuff you put in the oven.

Lots of interesting little recipes using those but forget it for me.

Best remedy for heartburn is half a teaspoon of baking soda and 4 oz water. Gets rid of it immediately. No kidding.

What's with the Detroit Lions game being only televised on the Paramount Plus network, which is now a pay per view?

“Because they can be treated rather then people just dropping over dead.”

Being treatable or not is irrelevant to the fact that diseases like diabete or hypertension or even cancer CAN be spread, by nutrition, culture, change of habits or ... experimental vaxx.
If they can’t be spread, we’ll have the same rate of occurence of them now than 50 years ago. We don’t.

Diabetes

Cardiac myopathy

Hyperthyroidism

Multiple sclerosis

All diseases. None of them virulent.

As I was telling a friend today, obesity, alcoholism, acid reflux and type 2 diabetes are, IMHO, not diseases, they are decisions. I say this as someone who struggles against one or more of the foregoing myself.
