This program in space is likely based on China’s multi-billion dollar precision medicine research, whose primary goal is to find a genetic race specific killer virus which effects all groups, except Han Chinese. The idea is to eliminate all other races, so that the Han can take over the world, leaving their fouled and heavily polluted lands.

Those ‘70s disaster movies have turned me dead set against alarm-quashing officials. Jaws, Towering Inferno, Pirhana, Avalanche, Volcano, you name it. Always somebody is poopoohing the threat until it’s too late. So I’m inclined to believe the Chinese are doing gain of function in outer space. That way it doesn’t spread to their population, and they can Andromeda Strain those foolish westerners as payback for the Opium War and the Century of Humiliation.
I’m sure they’re working on all kinds of things, and probably with US involvement as WuFlu was. Maybe not as much now since a lot of funding was cut this year.
Other countries do it, too, but China’s the most dangerous of them, imho.
