An analysis of the Russo-Urainian War in 2025. I look at events essentially from the draw down in Kursk to the overall trajectory of the combat lines. Finally, I take a look at constraints on the west and challenges faced.

Thanks for your clear response.
That’s not what some of our politicians wanted, that’s not what we might do.
We’re talking about taking unilateral action on Mexican soil without Mexico’s approval.
That’s what Graham had been advocating for a long time: https://youtu.be/UD4kFxyHALo?si=HuMHv7L_R-LStaPV

Ukraine did the same thing that Grenada did when we invaded. They did the same thing that Cuba did during the missile crisis.
Russia is not going to allow the world’s most powerful military, and the world’s most powerful military alliance, to build as many bases as they want, station as many troops and all their equipment, nuclear weapons, missile defense, for as long as we want, engaging in any sort of activity we want, on their border, no more than we would tolerate such.
This is a war you attempt to justify.
But frankly, what we did is so out there, over the top, ridiculous, that one has to ask oneself if we didn’t do this intentionally hoping a war would ensue.
Are our policy makers really that inept, or is this part of some grand geo-political strategy where we weaken Russia by having the Euros flip 1/2 the bill and Ukraine does all the bleeding?
Ukraine was no threat to Russia. Ukraine before 2014, had turned over all nukes, long range bombers and missiles to Russia. In 2022 those bombers and missiles were used to terrorize Ukraine's civilians. Most people in Ukraine were against joining NATO in 2014.
Your arguing Russia has the right to invade any of their neighbors in self defense.
Its not about Ukraine/NATO being a threat to Russia, but Putin's belief that Ukraine belongs to Russia. In fact Putin in 2021 wrote a 5,000 world essay on why Ukraine's existence is a "historical" mistake and that they are one people. That's why Putin's demand is not only Ukraine be neutral, but that it must disarm, leaving it defenseless.
Article by Vladimir Putin ”On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians“
I'm justifying Ukraine's right to self-defense and its right to be independent.
Weaken Russia? No, I don't think anyone seriously thought that it would take Russia so long to conquer Ukraine. Our military believed in would be over in weeks.
It all comes back to where you define the start point.
If I show you a video of Mike Tyson beating a man on an airplane, it looks pretty bad for Tyson.
If I show you video of that same man picking on Tyson for about 2 minutes straight, provoking him, suddenly when Tyson turns around and beats him, it’s a little bit different.

Despite what we want repeat in every TV report, news article, etc. this conflict in Ukraine was NOT “unprovoked.” In fact it was very much so provoked and that changes things.
Ukraine isn’t the poor innocent victim and we aren’t just a neutral bystander that is helping out for democracy’s sake.
No major power wants another playing on the border, we won’t even tolerate a Chinese private firm to operate the Panama Canal and threaten invasion unless they give this contract and oversight to someone else: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c39149p920no
I have yet to hear you stand up for Panama’s “sovereignty.”
https://www.dw.com/en/panama-on-edge-as-us-targets-chinas-canal-influence/a-72207874
Panama is 1,900 miles from our Southern border and there are 7 nations between us. Yet we still consider this in our sphere of influence.
—What we did in Ukraine is either a case where people on our side are brain dead idiots, stumbling into a war by making a series of horrible decisions, taking on risk that is excessive, and completely reading the situation wrong.
—Or it’s a case of geo-political chess, where we have a long term strategic vision of stripping Russia of its oil and gas possessions, and weakening them on the world stage benefits us. In that case, the Euros pay half the bill and Ukraine does the bleeding as we sacrifice them like a pawn.
Your choice. I can’t prove either way.

You have supported Ukraine’s right to self determination rather than two US Coups to get Vicky Nuland’s desired Cookie Monster result.
NATO ENLARGEMENT became a constant topic after the US Coup.
Ultimately the US drives NATO, and US Presidents since Clinton have kept NATO involved in a series of nondefensive conflicts outside the NATO footprint.
Johnny Come Lately to the Party, is selective when and where he supports Ukraine’s rights.
I remember when NEUTRALITY WAS THE GUARANTOR OF UKRAINIAN SECURITY - NOT NATO.
Looking around a bit:
Baroness Mary Goudie is, among other things, a Lefty, Labour Party member and pushes "gender equality." As Starmer sinks politically, she keeps her "seat" beacuse that's the British system. This "charity" sits on a bunch of monry in investments, and was begun in 2001. The El-Hibri family still drops a half million+ in the pot, and those wacky folks at Open Society foundations kicks in a quater million in the year above.Note this really DUMB statement IF from a BRITISH Lefty from the El Hibri Foundation -- "The El-Hibri Foundation envisions a society where everyone can achieve the American Dream in a diverse and inclusive world." One learns that the foundation ins't British; it's located in Washington, DC.

And Susan Kokinda also several times asks for money. Seems quite the thing to do these days.
And exactly how many have you turned?
My hat’s off to you. I knew she a LaRussie, but like old hippy’s I didn’t think much but listened to about 6 months of podcasts.
While her message about the Brit’s resonate, it turns out she is involved with the Muslim movement - money has not loyalities.

Eir News Service

Company Background
EIR News Service aims to transform the Military Industrial Financial Complex into peaceful and beneficial production.
The organization publishes writings and conducts conferences to advocate for a new international economic architecture, focusing on security and development for all nations. Their intended clients include policymakers, researchers, and the general public interested in international relations and economic strategies.
Through educational initiatives and publications, the EIR seeks to promote human creativity and collective welfare.
EIR started in 2007, and ISW started in 2007.
EIR is in Leesburg, Virginia. ISW operates in Washington DC. About forty miles apart, and both lobbying the government, and both seek donations. Because "talking heads" deserve to get paid, and the better paid seems to be ISW for its non-profit status.
EIR seems to have about 40 employees, while ISW seems to have circa 30+ employees.
They are two faces on the same Janus.
On another thread, someone challenged me about the front line in the Ukraine-Russia war, and erred by providing a verifiable link. That link led to a link which led to a link, and so on. At the enc of the chain was Soros' Open Society.
As in my comment # 57 documenting that "Mister Estonian in London wants USD, not pounds sterling," the whole fabric of the noncombatant world in the West seems to be "find some income" via alarming reports, one way or another. EIR wants supporters and their money. ISW want supporters and their money. Ditto with all those YouTube channels posted for literally years on FR, with, as one example, an earlier theme about how Mariupol wasn't going to fall.
Throughout these last years some FEW Freepers have suggested I was or am a -- insert some favorite pejorative. All for being skeptical about stories and narratives.
At this point, there is so much national debt (and therefore debt service to be paid), that the obvious solution is the one no one likes. Stop spending so much. For me this includes idiotic things like that which USAID was funding, the MIC and geopolitical activities beyond our actual ability to solve them all, and meanwhile....
All those nice think tanks and "intelligence" reviews and more seek more money -- a nice portion of which pays for comfortable living for the talking heads. On all sides. Skepticism is warranted in much.
Best wishes.
You earned your strips with what you are bringing to FR.
Keep doing this kind of work, it is what makes this site great.
What makes it suck is emotionally damaged agenda driven idiots...
Keep up the good work - and I deeply appreciate your bringing this topic to my attention. I should have been suspecious or at least inquisitive of her background beyound being a LaRussie.
