An associate professor at The University of New Mexico says that she is concerned she will be forced to lie and teach that there are only two genders, male and female.
Georgiann Davis, an associate professor at The University of New Mexico, wrote in an op-ed Thursday in the Los Angeles Times that she is concerned about being forced to lie when speaking about sexuality. The piece was headlined, “I’m an intersex professor. Am I supposed to lie by teaching ‘only male and female’?”
She noted a viral video on Reddit of a Texas A&M student questioning Professor Melissa McCoul over rhetoric on “gender and sexuality” and “gender ideology.”
McCoul shared a graphic of a purple “gender unicorn” that’s used to teach on differences on gender identity and sexuality, according to The Texas Tribune.
“Um, I just have a question because I’m not entirely sure this is legal to be teaching,” the female asked in the video referred to by Davis. “Because according to our president, there’s only two genders…. And this also very much goes against not only myself, but a lot of people’s religious beliefs.”
McCoul was eventually fired over what the university claimed was teaching content inconsistent with her own course’s description.
A statement from former Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III, who recently stepped down from his role, addressed the controversy in a post last month on Texas A&M’s X account.
“I learned this afternoon that key leaders in the College of Arts and Sciences approved plans to continue teaching course content that was not consistent with the course’s published description,” Welsh said. “As a result, I directed the provost to remove the dean and department head from their administrative positions, effective immediately.”

As to males having birth defects, I’m sorry to be the person to tell you this, but males are at risk to many disorders more than females, from near-sightedness, to speech disorders, to being imbeciles and to being geniuses. (I’d bet you never thought of being a genius as a birth disorder.)
If you’re o.k. with some stats, women are tightly clumped about the mode, and men are widely dispersed about the mode. Yes, there are some female geniuses, but way less than male geniuses. Ditto females who are criminally-insane.
If the leftards would pay more attention to science and less to ideology, they’d understand why we conservatives think we have to reward merit and ignore quotas, and why we have to lock up repeat offenders for a long period of time or maybe just execute them.
Framing it in other ways, and especially using the word “gender” instead of “sex,” is misleading.

If you are “intersex” (a hermaphrodite?) you are a birth defective combo of the two sexes. One will be predominant. There is no third or fourth or fifth sex.
But even though there are a tiny number of intersex people, that does not change the fact that there are two sexes, male and female.

If you are genetically ‘intersex’, you’re nothing but a statistical outlier and have nothing to do with the whole ‘non-binary’ culture that insists that normal biological men can ‘transition’ into being female or 69 other genders.

Genders. There are three of them in Romance and Germanic languages. There are two and only wo sexes in mammalian biology. This professor, learned as she might be does not know the difference between sex and gender unless, that is she uses “gender” instead of sex because she knows that there are only two sexes but there are more than two genders, albeit only one more and she thinks the meaning of “gender” is amorphous and so can be used to mean what she wants it to mean. But isn’t that true of words generally as liberals use them and want to force sane people to use them?
