An Oregon federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration from sending the National Guard into Portland, as the city contends with hundreds of protestors at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.
It's a major blow to Trump, who called Portland a 'war-ravaged' city under siege by Antifa terrorists, when he announced last week that federal agents would be deployed there.
U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee, made the ruling after the city and the state sued the federal government.
The temporary restraining order expires in 14 days on October 18, Immergut wrote in her order.
The Department of Defense has been ready to federalize 200 members of Oregon's National Guard for the next 60 days to protect the ICE facility, which has been a site for protests throughout the summer and into the fall.
On Saturday, about 400 people participating in a 'No National Guard in Portland' rally marched from Elizabeth Caruthers Park to the ICE facility.
As they marched, a helicopter continually followed them. And once they arrived at the facility, federal agents shot tear gas into the crowd and made six arrests, The Oregonian reported.
It's not yet clear who was arrested or why they were taken into custody.

How is it that these judges have any authority to interfere in the protection of Federal Agents?
I was hoping someone here would explain this to me.
Weak woman buckles. Yes, she has NO authority.
No judge has the power to order US troops. Period.
This will serve to embolden the antifa terrorists. Expect to see much more violence soon enough. The little anarchists will conclude that judges will tie Trump’s hands.
The flash point for CW2 is very close. Or martial law, and no judge can stop that.
This is a cold civil war. # Death Wish
In LA in June 2025 some 50 protesters followed ICE agents to a hotel. Called the rally that night “No Sleep For ICE.” Some were reported as hitting metal together such as pots and pans continuously at night so the agents would get no sleep. Also used air horns.
Others used online websites revealing the whereabouts of the agents and their family homes.
Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh in the past had jeering mobs surround his home and threaten him and his family.
Question: What if, by some odd happenstance, a group of anti-judge people protested at that judge’s house after her ruling?
As Seinfeld would say: That’s a shame.

I guess the castle document goes into effect.

They have none. Declaring it illegal for the President to protect Federal agents and assets from attack is beyond what could be called ridiculous or incompetent. This is judicial corruption.
What if an ICE officer gets killed? Will the judge be held accountable? These judges seem to have more power than any other governmental authority.
Ignore this idiot. The issue of federalizing NG troops and using them for federal causes has been decided in the Presidents favor many times in the past century.
I smell the influence of Schwartz Gyorgy and the world enslavement forum.
Perhaps your answer lies in the seventy-something responses made when this article was posted a few hours ago.

F the judge....Send um
Sorry ‘your honor’s, go pound sand....
Declare martial law?
I follow Andy Ngo (reporter on X)) and he has been at the Portland ICE facility a lot. He was chased down and beat up last week.
He was posting tonight videos of ICE arresting lots of protestors, taking down their barriers and banners, with others cheering them on and saying thank you, chanting “USA, USA”, etc.
Why ignore her? That would be stupid and just what the Left wants him to do
It’s temporary and this ruling won’t last
How’d that work out for Gruesome in LA?
