NEW YORK (AP) — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced Friday to 4 years and 2 months in prison in case involving sex workers, violence and “freak-offs.”
U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said a lengthy sentence was needed for deterrence and that he was unconvinced that if Combs is released these crimes won’t happen again. Since Combs has served a year in prison already, the sentence means he would be released in about three years.
The 55-year-old hip-hop mogul was convicted in July of flying people across state lines for drug-fueled marathon sexual encounters that were deemed violations of the the Mann Act. Jurors acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges that could have carried a life sentence.

Sean “Diddy” Combs may have been sentenced to just around four years behind bars in his criminal case on Friday, but he still faces a mountain of lawsuits accusing him of sexual violence and other disturbing acts.
The nearly 70 civil suits will prove to be a “headache” for Combs — as he already faces legal fees in his federal sex-crimes case that could easily top $15 million so far, experts told The Post.
Lawyers were split on if the Bad Boy Records founder would “fight like hell” or dip into his dwindling, estimated $400 million fortune to quickly pay off his long list of accusers.
Seconded
He’s already served 13 months so thats time off for good behavior

I had mixed judgements on what was an an appropriate sentence. The prostitutes were there of their own volition as were many non prostitutes. The prostitutes just did their job as contracted. The non prostitutes were manipulated by money and fear, a lot of fear. If anyone is manipulated by fear, physical assault or threat of such, prostitutes or not, this is his real crime.
He is a violent man with a long history of violence. Four and one half years in general population seems about right and no chance of parole.
I read that Combs* expected probation, and had already scheduled speaking engagements for next week.
Best to cancel those engagements, Mr. Combs.
* I refuse to refer to Combs by his childish nickname. Nope, ain’t gonna do it.
Of course “minus time served.” It says so in the article.
So, he should be out in 2 years if he behaves himself in prison.
He’s going to get probe-ation.
Kamasutra was first thing I thought of upon seeing judge’s name.
He was transporting young gulls across staid lions for immortal purposes, that filthy SOB.
Mann act is some jim crow era BS. I think combs is a garbage human being, but everyone involved in this was there of their own free will and the hookers got paid. What was the real crime?
