I had mixed judgements on what was an an appropriate sentence. The prostitutes were there of their own volition as were many non prostitutes. The prostitutes just did their job as contracted. The non prostitutes were manipulated by money and fear, a lot of fear. If anyone is manipulated by fear, physical assault or threat of such, prostitutes or not, this is his real crime.
He is a violent man with a long history of violence. Four and one half years in general population seems about right and no chance of parole.
Well but didn’t the Mann act come into play here. Didn’t some of those girls cross state lines?
The Mann Act makes it illegal to transport someone across state lines for the purpose of prostitution or other illegal sex acts.
