Am I the only one?

Posted on 09/19/2025 3:00:42 PM PDT by 2nd Amendment

I'm not feeling so well the past week. And it's about Charlie Kirk. Honestly I never followed Charlie very much before his assassination. I rewpected him and knew he was partially responsible for electing Trump. I watched his presentations this past week and I find myself agreeing virtually with everything he said. I find boldness in areas that I was too intimidated to say in public. I fnd myself unworthy of even tying his shoes. He lived a Christlike life like his Savior. Now I just feel an emptiness in my soul as we mourn this humble principled servant. I know many new chapters have been created by his death and his wife is one of the most heroic figures i have ever encountered. I just feel that a part of me is hurting and the bullet that took his life took a little bit of my life. Incidentally my godly brother in Montana went to be with his Lord at about the same time as Charlie. Perhaps the met on the way up to heaven.

You know.

The racist word has no more power.

None of the forbidden words do anymore.

Not going to let fascist leftists determine my language.

Was watching a Charlie Kirk video in hopes of becoming a better Christian witness that day. When the video was over, I was shocked to find he had been shot and confirmed it via several other websites.

When I learned he had passed, it released a floodgate of tears. When his dear wife made a YouTube about it, the floodgate returned, and more prayers were lifted on their behalf.

The parallels to Butler left me angry. No Drones!! No roof patrols!!

The Furry lover's text from the shooter are as phony as a 3 dollar bill.

Lord, please be merciful to this generation and grant Godly repentance for this nation. That slander and vileness would be removed from our discourse, and we would turn and follow you. In Jesus name. Amen.

No, you’re not the only one.

I have been greatly saddened by the loss of such a wonderful young man. Charlie left his mark for the better in this world. Amazing for the short life he lived.

In a talk I heard on Sunday the speaker said he was not okay. It started with Charlie’s assassination and continued with the loss of a close friend a couple days later. He said he was not okay, but that the Savior had won the battle and that hope helped him continue on.

Very sorry on the loss of your brother as well. God bless him and you.

I knew who Charlie Kirk was, of course, and he knew the organization he led, TPUSA, was instrumental in turning out young, college-aged men for Trump in 2024 but beyond this, I didn't really know much about the guy. I didn't listen to his podcast or catch much media that he was in.

And then following his assassination, I started watching some of his debate clips.

This guy was so good at what he did. So quick with his mind. Such a massive loss and huge boots to fill.

Me too. I got on my youtube app on my Roku to see what the Charlie Kirk phenomenon was about. I typed "Charlie Kirk" and literally one of the first results (not counting the ones about the shooting) was Charlie Kirk defending the Bible. With a quick-witted, very knowledgeable, very personal understanding of what the Bible really said, where it said it, but with respect to whomever he was responding to...over and over... student after student...college instructor after college instructor, he defended the Bible well. The montage in that one video seemed endless. When it finally ended, there was another video, and another, and another.

Even on the videos that showed political discussions, it seemed like about 10% of the time Charlie always said that, in the end, it comes down to Judean Christian values. And most of the time, the young adults around him cheered. It often looked like a youth group pep rally.

If I had known he was like that I would have told my young adult kids to go to his rallies, and if he came close enough to here I'd had gone. It turns out my oldest daughter (30) followed him a lot and told me that what I heard was pretty much the norm.

Situational Awareness:

* The spirit of the Antichrist is rabid ever since prayer was assaulted in schools. ✖️

* Many will see the Two Kingdoms more from this, and make their choices

* The Days will be shortened. 📖

Consider whether that heart felt tug is a calling to emulate Charlie, within your own abilities.

I feel very sad about it too.
It’s funny, I never watched him; just heard about his influence. But when I heard he’d been shot, and saw the video, I was shocked to the core. He was so young, so optimistic, so open, so informed, so Christian, and so full of vitality. He never hurt a fly. He treated his fellow man as he would like to be treated.

And he was butchered for his words—for the opinions, expressed lawfully and respectfully, that he had a right to hold.

I have felt heavy since that day. I think because I lost a lot of hope for America at that moment.

I enjoyed watching Charlie. The man was quick and well informed. Moreover, he was patient and respectful. Much more than I could be. Now, I have lost all patience with the Left.

I’m not over it yet either. I wish nobody was. I don’t want to let it go, it would be like capitulating. If we forget this easily, it would be like he gave his life for nothing. I feel we’re letting the other side get hold of the narrative once again. If Charlie’s assassination doesn’t change it, what can?.

very sorry for the loss of your brother.

I am slowly embracing the fact God does work all things for good, for those who love Him and are called according....

If you ask, God will give you peace, understanding, and all else you need for whatever your next day, chapter, year, etc will have in it.

I felt the similarly as I got to know more about Charlie, and in August lost a dear friend who was very much servant and about his mission in life, very dedicated.

I just keep asking God to help me finish stronger, since I see I many times didnt use my time over the years wisest, in ways that would please Him.

It was touching when Glenn Beck gave Rush’s EIB Golden Microphone to Charlie’s show this week. It looks like it’s there to stay. I still can’t figure out why Kathryn gave it to Beck.

Come to think of it, they are similar — the gut punch.

I think maybe because it was so sudden, many of us experience a sense of shock and got stuck there a while.

Years ago I lost a grandparent suddenly. I couldn’t say the name without crying for 5 years. I finally took a trip to visit the area they had lived and places I had been to with them, and that helped my closure. I am not sure how to do that about Charlie, except to watch some things about him and try to change to be a better Christian, like Charlie’s example. Reach out to the lost, as he did too.

Promises

“We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.” – 1 Corinthians 15:51

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

For since we believe that Jesues Christos, died and rose again, even so, through Jesues, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. ...
I Thessalonians 4:13-18

“For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain.”
Isaiah 66:22

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18

Our church nursery used to have that posted on the door.

I heard of the Iryna Zarutska subway stabbing, then right after that, the shooting of Charlie Kirk. I couldn’t sleep at night. I was deeply upset and had no one (in my deep blue neighborhood) to discuss it with.
