And today is 9/11. Imagine that. Better that I stay home from work than to spread my disgust that may be contagious. I wonder how many other people feel the same way.
Slept OK but woke up this morning realizing the gravity of what happened yesterday and felt sick inside. It helps having the support of fellow FReepers here.
Your first problem is having liberal acquaintances.
Yes.
I was extremely upset and despondent yesterday, especially after seeing the photo of Charlie Kirk’s wife and two little children, one of whom is only 16 months old - then realized today is also the 9/11 anniversary, which makes it worse.
Have two candles lit.
Felt same after hearing about Rush Limbaugh’s death.

Most of them are old-school, JFK types. Decent people who put the flag out on holidays and believe in the value of hard work. Some are veterans.
But they also watch MSNBC. So I’ll be avoiding them for awhile.
good luck. its going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
I had to go to the post office earlier. Trump ordered all government buildings to fly the US flag at half staff until Sunday evening.
Guess what...there was NO FLAG visible anywhere at the PO. Anybody else have this experience?
As upsetting as Charlie’s murder is, I think what has me in a tailspin is just how hateful and gleeful voices on the left are. One needn’t have particularly liked him, but one also does not have to publicly gloat. That so many apparently average folks — teachers, pediatricians, etc. — have such hate in their hearts and feel so comfortable expressing it on social media has me astounded. Are we breathing the same air? Where is the heart in my country? I think back to the Kennedy and King assassinations ... those men were not family heroes by any stretch, but never, ever, was joy expressed at their murders, ever. Not privately, not ever.
Yes. I sobbed over Rush’s death. I am upset (grieving) and angry over Charlie’s. I cannot cry yet.
I understand how you feel, especially after the murder of Iryna.
If I wasn’t already retired, yes, I would be calling in sick.
They are breaking, they have lost the argument and you can know this because all they have left is violence. Keep moving into them. Keep spreading the truth, keep liberating minds, keep fighting the left.
Let's win this, for our Republic, for liberty, and for Charlie.
No. Go to work. It’s indeed a tragedy but unless you knew CK in some capacity personally it’s just over emotional weakness.
I pray you all recover soon.
RIP CK. Be strong .
The radical left will one day repeat Yamamoto’s words.
“We have awakened a sleeping giant “
It is upsetting. To me, one of the defining values of conservatives versus leftists is that we persevere. We get up, get going, do what needs to be done when it needs doing.
I encourage you to focus outwardly to what needs to be done and don’t turn inward. That is a pit of despair. Get up, get going!
I know how you feel. I didn’t sleep hardly any at all last night. The events of the day kept rolling through my head. I keep picturing Kirk and his beautiful family. I kept thinking of how the Democrats and media are culpable in his death. I keep thinking about how evil surrounds us each day.
I think we should all donate a little to Turning Point in Charlie Kirk’s memory in order to keep their mission going. They are going to have to up their security to include sharp shooters on roofs.
My friends and I had to get together last night - we had been scheduled to go out with a bigger group that included liberals but we just couldn’t do it. There were tears and shock. What has this county become? I see it as good v evil.
I own my own company and seriously considered closing today.
After much consideration, I concluded I was being selfish. My customers rely on us, my employees rely on their pay, so I am toughing it out.
I will not be good company.
While it’s understandable, you need to pray for your Creator’s blessings to strengthen and toughen your resolve against evil. Things will likely get worse so we all need to encourage and comfort each other in such difficult times. Keep praying and ask for God’s help to go on with your life and you will be surprised how comforting it will make you feel.
I know I messed up on a few tasks yesterday at work
