You are right, it’s not a dignified thing to do. Some people will bend over backwards trying to legitimize something Trump does or says even if they’d have an issue with anybody else doing the same thing. I say this as a Trump supporter (who doesn’t wear rose colored glasses )
I think it is great.........think of the possible matchups besides the UFC. Wouldnt you love to see Nancy Pelosi, Hilary Clinton, Chuck Schumer (omg—too many to list) get their clock rung? I would pay to see that.

There are good locations nearby and it’s not a ding on MMA.
The White House is “physically” a poor location.
To small an area, no big indoor hall (weather), no stadium seating (visibility for large crowd), no adjacent mass parking.
An event like this can pull a crowd of 50,000 attendees! Some have reached near 100,000 in the past and if you have this sort of publicity I’d imagine this is going to be on the larger side.
It would be like trying to have such an event at a high school gym.
Maybe he’s thinking something small to a select audience.

I seem to vaguely recall Teddy Roosevelt hosted a boxing match at the White House. Trump is President of the country and a certain segment of this country watches this kind of sport. Yes, IMHO it is a bit tacky for the White House and of course the media will go nuts. However, I find this far less offensive than Biden hosting a trans freak show at theWhite House.

—If they have a large viewership online and TV, the media will spin it as Trump selling the White House and his position to promote this ruthless savage sport. They will present him as a whore, unlike Biden who took Chinese money, who’s son sold art with Chinese buying some of it, how his party rubs elbows with the Podesta lobbying groups which gets money from the Chinese...
—If millions don’t tune in, it’ll be how Trump flopped and is a bad business man, not really as popular as some claim...
But no matter what, the story will be negative.
Whereas when Biden needs his hand held by the Easter Bunny to find his way around, he’s “sharp as a tack” and him shitting his pants at the Vatican or letting one rip right in front of the Dutches of Corwall (even doing the leg lift) is “unproven.” LOL
