Months before his first class at Carlow University, Lee, a 17-year-old in Pennsylvania, found himself without a provider.
On a summer day, Lee sat waiting in a doctor’s office, playing GamePigeon on his phone, telling family stories with his mom and deciding where to get dinner.
It seemed like an ordinary afternoon, yet the reason for Lee’s appointment was far from ordinary.
Lee, 17, was there because the UPMC health system, headquartered in Pittsburgh, had cut off the gender-affirming care he’d been receiving for two years — a change driven by a federal executive order. A pharmacy mix-up meant his final puberty blocker shot never came, and the “weaning off” period his doctor had promised vanished. Within a month, he was experiencing hot flashes he hadn’t felt since starting treatment.Lee was devastated when he learned he could no longer receive treatment. “You feel like you’re starting from rock bottom,” said Lee, who plans to start classes at Carlow University this month.
The sudden disruption of care brought national policy directly into Lee’s home. On June 30, UPMC cut gender-affirming care for patients under 19 citing compliance with a January executive order from President Donald Trump. However, the care remains legal in Pennsylvania, and critics say the decision was less about the law than about protecting federal funding. A UPMC spokesperson said while they “empathize deeply” with impacted patients, the Trump administration has made it “abundantly clear” they can “no longer provide certain types of gender-affirming care without risk of criminal prosecution.”UPMC’s move mirrors a broader trend. Major health systems — from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to Penn State Health — have also ended gender-affirming care for minors.

It’s not gender affirming. It’s delusion affirming. And it’s not “care”.
I’m sure the hospital cut something off.
If gender is a “social construct” as they always maintain, why is it that they can’t just “re-construct” themselves to some other “gender” without cutting anything off or administering drugs?
This type of surgical approach is acceptable for someone born with ambiguous sexual characteristics which is an abnormality. But what this child was being put through is evil.
This is evil. Evil. Evil. Everything about it. This guy needed mental help, not surgery and drugs and his mentally ill “mother” facilitated this.

You can find nothing in that excerpt that states which way this person was trying to go, and I got so disgusted I couldn’t finish the linked article at the source.
And the “journalist” does all they can to avoid “misgendering” this gullible person. I didn’t read far enough to see if “she” cut off “her” “breasts” yet.
These evil people want to push this so WE have to do the mental gymnastics and figure out male-to-female or female-to-male.

It is apparently a “She” who wants to become a “He”, but this pearl of journalism doesn’t specify.
Apparently, all readers are expected to be up to speed and realize that she is getting hot flashes because she isn’t getting her “gender affirming” testosterone injections.
This whole thing makes me boiling mad.
That’s one of the best comparisons I’ve ever seen regarding this topic.
Of course, this article is about medical "treatment". But if you think about it, most of the so-called trans folks are as you describe. They just claim they've switched genders and expect everyone to acknowledge their "new gender". Mainly because talk is cheap and easy. The leftist followers have a lot more talk than they have do. They expect everyone else to figure out how to do the things they say.
For example, with their global warmageddon cult "green energy" stuff they expect the car manufacturers and utility providers to figure out how to make solar and windmills provide steady power to the grid and EV's provide long trips across charging deserts. The Dims' job is to just proclaim it should be done and everybody else has to figure out how to do it.
That's the way most "trans" people are. If you think about it, except for the insane shooters who've gotten the headlines recently, most of the "trans" people we've heard in the news over the past decade are really just cross dressers wanting to know why we don't let them perv in the other sex's locker rooms, without the "trans" taking a hormone treatment or anything else. They just claim it and expect everyone else to jump.
Is there a more Orwellian term than “gender affirming care”? I don’t think you can twist the language more than that.

If you told me this quackery of a study looked at these 55 "patients" immediately after they finished their "transition" process and found them just as happy as can be, I wouldn't even bat an eye.
On the bright side, at least if her surgery is held up, or if she leaves this terrible country to live somewhere else like some pathetic European country where they will just mutilate her and accept money for it, she'll be less likely to be in a position to harm Americans.

I find that the Left imposes this Orwellian exercise on people. (and it IS Orwellian)
They make it a crime to call someone by a name assigned to them at birth. They make it a crime to refuse to use the mentally ill person's "preferred pronouns". And make no mistake-even though they have generally not actually made these laws in many places, they would enact them if they thought they could get away with it. (I believe in Canada, they DO have actual laws that they can prosecute people under. Not surprising.)
But they cannot in most cases, but still they make it a public and moral shaming transgression whether there is law behind it or not.
And then they have articles like these where they expect you to do the calculus and think:

Is it a Leftist source, so I should assume it is a woman thinking she can cut off her breasts, take testosterone for the rest of her life, and have her vagina turned into a fake penis with some kind of manual pump inside it, or is it really a man who they are reporting accurately as a man, wanting to be a woman by having his penis removed and made into a fake, non-functional hole in his body while adding fake breasts to make him feel more like a woman? Wait-they mentioned hot flashes. Okay...since a biological female who is getting testosterone injections that are not consistently delivered may get hot flashes, it must be a biological female who is trying to be a male. Is that right? Should I use Google to check this to be sure?"
That is really what they want you to do. I refuse.
