I find that the Left imposes this Orwellian exercise on people. (and it IS Orwellian)
They make it a crime to call someone by a name assigned to them at birth. They make it a crime to refuse to use the mentally ill person's "preferred pronouns". And make no mistake-even though they have generally not actually made these laws in many places, they would enact them if they thought they could get away with it. (I believe in Canada, they DO have actual laws that they can prosecute people under. Not surprising.)
But they cannot in most cases, but still they make it a public and moral shaming transgression whether there is law behind it or not.
And then they have articles like these where they expect you to do the calculus and think:
"Okay. They refer to the subject as a "he". Is it a Leftist source, so I should assume it is a woman thinking she can cut off her breasts, take testosterone for the rest of her life, and have her vagina turned into a fake penis with some kind of manual pump inside it, or is it really a man who they are reporting accurately as a man, wanting to be a woman by having his penis removed and made into a fake, non-functional hole in his body while adding fake breasts to make him feel more like a woman? Wait-they mentioned hot flashes. Okay...since a biological female who is getting testosterone injections that are not consistently delivered may get hot flashes, it must be a biological female who is trying to be a male. Is that right? Should I use Google to check this to be sure?"
That is really what they want you to do. I refuse.
