If gender is a “social construct” as they always maintain, why is it that they can’t just “re-construct” themselves to some other “gender” without cutting anything off or administering drugs?
This type of surgical approach is acceptable for someone born with ambiguous sexual characteristics which is an abnormality. But what this child was being put through is evil.

And the “journalist” does all they can to avoid “misgendering” this gullible person. I didn’t read far enough to see if “she” cut off “her” “breasts” yet.
These evil people want to push this so WE have to do the mental gymnastics and figure out male-to-female or female-to-male.

Of course, this article is about medical "treatment". But if you think about it, most of the so-called trans folks are as you describe. They just claim they've switched genders and expect everyone to acknowledge their "new gender". Mainly because talk is cheap and easy. The leftist followers have a lot more talk than they have do. They expect everyone else to figure out how to do the things they say.
For example, with their global warmageddon cult "green energy" stuff they expect the car manufacturers and utility providers to figure out how to make solar and windmills provide steady power to the grid and EV's provide long trips across charging deserts. The Dims' job is to just proclaim it should be done and everybody else has to figure out how to do it.
That's the way most "trans" people are. If you think about it, except for the insane shooters who've gotten the headlines recently, most of the "trans" people we've heard in the news over the past decade are really just cross dressers wanting to know why we don't let them perv in the other sex's locker rooms, without the "trans" taking a hormone treatment or anything else. They just claim it and expect everyone else to jump.

I do understand the distinction, but I think it’s a distraction - or even a fatal deception. By conceding that “gender” is merely a social construct, we give the Left free-reign to alter the meaning of “gender” with impunity. After all, it’s merely a social construct - what’s the harm?
Actually, one could argue that perverting the language is more of a threat to Western civilization than any surgical experiment - horrific as they are.
While, I certainly don’t mean to make light of the horrors of attempting to surgically alter physical sex, I think we tend to underestimate the horrific consequences of allowing the Left to alter the meanings of words, such as the gender pronouns. Or words like “undocumented worker” or “reproductive freedom”, or”assault rifle”, or “white privilege”.
I would argue that letting the Left fudge the meanings of words has been the gateway to all brainwashing - the attack on the language is the true threat - as it opens the door to all Hell breaking loose.
