AVENTURA, Fla. — A Miami woman is facing two charges ― including a felony ― after police said she slapped a senior in a spat over a chair at the Aventura Mall, sending him to the hospital.
According to Aventura police, the incident happened just after 5 p.m. Sunday at the mall’s newly-opened Eataly food hall.
An arrest report states that Lelia Trinchero, 44, of Coconut Grove, told officers that she “sat at a table to eat food and wait for her husband and son,” which she said was empty, when a woman “approached her and told her that her family was sitting at that table.”
This set off a dispute over whether the table was indeed occupied before Trinchero sat down, police said. According to the report, Trinchero began yelling at the woman as she took chairs from the table.
Police said when the woman took the last chair, Trinchero slapped her across the arm “and they began to struggle over the chair.”
A 72-year-old man who was part of the woman’s party intervened, police said, to try to break up the fight. Authorities said Trinchero slapped him across the face, leading to “pain and dizziness” and a trip to the hospital.
Police arrested Trinchero on charges of battery on a person 65 or older and battery.
A judge found probable cause to charge her Monday and ordered that she be released on her own recognizance.
Guilty!
She was arrested in 2009 for something similar: she kicked the crutch out from under a crippled King crab on the Time Bandit crab boat.

Sounds familiar.
“Many Christmases ago I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I reined blows upon him, I realized there HAD to be another WAY!”
Sweet girl.
Or the workplace version: “Beatings will continue until morale improves”
Why all the drama?
It is not your homestead and you are fighting off raiders.
It is a table. That has been repeatedly sneezed on. And probably has gum stuck under it.
Just move.
Both of them behaved badly but she was the one who broke the rule of "keep your hands to yourself". Which they teach to kindergartners successfully so it probably was within her ability to learn.
It is a felony in FL to attack anyone over the age of 65. Unless I’m mistaken, there are mandatory fines and imprisonment specified in those cases. She will not enjoy her near future.
What happened to the doll?
Deport her!
Sadly, it was destroyed.
“reined”???
I blame otto-corrupt.
Hey, it could be worse -- it could have chosen "reigned"...
Should have kept her in jail like they would a man.
In Thailand, a woman claims a table at a mall food court by placing her purse on it, then walking away leaving her purse unattended, while she and her family picks up food. It's an amazing sight to see as everyone respects the situation. There are almost no "teens" in Thailand that would grab the purse and run, nor rude people that would try to hijack the table.
Thailand loves Japan, and has become very Japan-like. Unlike America, mall life is still a big thing in SE Asia. There's practically no crime, and most prices are amazingly cheap as there are no undocumented reparations going on.
Well if the table was empty of anything and no one was around then the table was up for grabs, first come , first serve. The other woman could have easily just gotten another table but she is the one who escalated this and she should be in trouble also.
Typical S Florida Democrats lol
There is a Florida real estate agent with that name. She must wish she had that half hour to do over again. Anger is a dangerous emotion that must be reined in to prevent tragedy.
