Quaker Oats had a commercial many many decades ago that said “when you’ve got a good thing, don’t mess around with it”. Possibly that concept is too basic for that young lady.

Nah. It is just another soulless corporate logo. Going out to eat, even for a quick burger and fries use to be fun. Now it is just mindless fueling.

They might as well just dump some Purina bachelor chow in a feed bag and slap you on the rump to move you along.

Nothing is fun any more.

Ms Vapid nothing, trying to bring the ‘future’ to Cracker Barrel is sooooooo fitting of the nothingness oozing out of these ill-educated and totally not creative losers. Take a picture of a dirty toilet where someone has taken a bodacious Obama in it. That’s poor Cracker Barrel’s future if it continues to be run by a CEO with the executive ability of the Obama Crime family. Hopefully, someone down south will resurrect the “tar and feather” tradition and introduce that ignorant s**t CEO to it. I’ll never go to our local one again (always quite crowded) if they renew.

You ought to do a search and see how they are redesigning the inside of the stores to the new fresh look. Its sucks all the character out of the place and makes it just like any other restaurant.

Yep, and all the companies trying to look new and fresh die afterwards.

Well, they had to eliminate the old white guy with the rural vibe. /sarc But that looks like a regular chair, not a rocking chair.

So they got rid of the cracker but kept the Cracker?

The only time I’ve eaten at them was when traveling. Always a reliable place to stop for good food and a clean bathroom! :)

McDonald’s leaves them a mile behind.

You forgot the sarcasm tag.

“Old Country Store” is the whole brand and Nostalgic hook that catches folks in the first place. Dumb as hell to “modernize” an “Old Country store”... Nostalgia is Nostalgia, you do not modernize Nostalgia. It is the opposite of what the definition of Nostalgia even is...

nostalgia:

1: a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition
also : something that evokes nostalgia

2: the state of being homesick : homesickness

Woke just broke the old country store... She obviously did not get her moneys worth of education. Fire her for even trying this.

I’ve been boycotting them for years for some reason I have forgotten.

Cracker Barrel is like Target or Anheuser Busch to the extent that they thought they could go “woke” and not suffer the economic consequences of informal customer boycotts. In the case of Cracker Barrel, I have heard the quality of food and service has declined from 15-20 years ago. In the case of Target, the department store chain compounded its woes by backpedaling on the LGBTQ initiative due to conservative backlash and consequently suffering from a leftist counter-boycott.

Correct. The Old Country Store and down-home vibe are what make us stop at CB when on the road. If they get rid of that, there’s no reason to stop.

“there’s a new young female CEO”

Say no more.

Probably still has a Kamala bumpersticker on her EV.

Yep.

We have a local diner nearby and it sits in the middle of several of the corporate "dining experiences" places. It always has a full lot. Kind of annoyed the locals until they opened up a back area. If you are tourist you go in the front area, if you are local you go in the back. Same food, same service, with local gossip.

It is a bright, cheerful and slightly tacky. We dread the day when the old guy passes and his kids decide to sell the place. Although one of the grandkids seems to have taken an interest in keeping it running so we may luck out.
