YouTube says that in such cases a credit card or government ID will be needed to verify the user is over 18. Until that step has been completed, they won’t be able to watch any age-restricted content.

Sounds like personal data harvesting; how in the world are people going to upload their personal IDs and CC account numners when every one knows such things can be intercepted by 3rd parties?
They are just trying to identify you so that you can be flooded with designed advertisements. They don’t give one fig about minors accessing pron. The numbers of ads on YouTube have ruined it. Ads. Ads. Ads. Ads .. ad infinitum
I would be happy if they disabled "personalized advertising."
