Winters had contracted a bacterial infection which lead him into cardiac arrest for over two minutes while he was in an ambulance ride across Central Park
He was able to be revived by paramedics but got gangrene which resulted in two of his toes and half a thumb being amputated
He recently said: 'I haven’t taken a step since 2009 without being in pain . 'I’ve got neuropathy on, you know, on a whole different level where I can’t feel my hands and my feet. But if I stepped on a pebble, it’s like I go through the roof'
Winters also said he originally turned down the Allstate Insurance role because he was undergoing a 10th surgery but he said the company was 'relentless'
He said: 'It’s crazy if you look in the Webster dictionary, the Old English definition of the word "mayhem" is "one with amputations"'

He is known for starring as Mayhem in the Allstate Insurance advertising campaign.
And Dean Winters knows all to well what the effect of a whirlwind of chaos can cause someone in their actual life.

I remember that one!..............
Its the weirdest thing, through fall of last year a neighbor and myself couldnt keep the traps clear like they were just lined up to get in. I was expecting to get swarmed this spring like every other year but nothing so far.
Ive seen them running around near me and Ive changed bait a couple of times from things like sunflower seeds and peanut butter to chicken but so far the dogs nightly patrols seem to be keeping them away. Ive caught a pail full of possums and oddly a woodchuck in a cage baited with salmon.
You would think that I would be celebrating but I suspect that they are responding less to me and my dogs efforts than they are to the nearest coyote packs interest in the area around the farm. I could have sworn that I saw one carrying a large ACME magnet while pushing a catapult the other day and we dont even have road runners but we do have sheep and at least the racoons dont really bother them.
See post 23..................😁
Sorry to hear that, but I always hated those negative ads. Whatever they were selling, I didn’t want it.
Now THAT'S entertainment! 😊
The ads are for Allstate home insurance.
They are comical and entertaining.
He portrays a different type of disaster in each ad....
I know but I got tired of them and at some point started disliking them. Too negative and graphic. (BTW, insurance companies WANT you to be scared so you will buy their product.)
In NYS it’s illegal to relocate trash pandas.
But if you hire someone licensed to trap them the animals are likely to be euthanized.
So I’d never advise anyone to hire someone. 🦝
Jeez, how could I forget the Mayhem cat ad...

He does a great mew!
It’s strange Allstate would be “relentless” trying to get him. I would have thought he, and JK Simmons, would be typecast by his roll in Oz. But then again. It was almost 30 years ago.
I think he was also on law and order SUV at one time.
He was also in the first John Wick movie
