I like hot dogs very much, but I don’t eat one every day. I didn’t even do that when I lived in NYC where they are readily available from street carts!

I eat hot dogs maybe twice a year and enjoy them. I’ll accept the risk.

A new analysis of global dietary studies has found compelling evidence that even small amounts of processed meat may raise the risk of serious chronic diseases. No. It didn't.

Well, they have graphs and everything, so it must be true. If the hot dog is wrapped in cornmeal and deep fried, will it still kill you?

Colorectal cancer, huh?
I serious matter, I understand. But just what are they doing with these hotdogs ... especially the Costco-size ones?

I mean how many live does Joey Chestnut have?
And BTW, in some states, putting ketchup on a hot dog lands you in jail...

So, if 365 hot dogs over the course of a year increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 7%, the 10 I MIGHT eat in a year will raise my risk by 0.19%.
Worth it.

Who eats one hot dog? I eat four Costco dogs every visit. Indeed, this is the high point of the shopping day.
Just bring your own saurkraut and chopped onions since fine damned cheapskate accounting department grinch took them away

So… you’re telling me eating unsweetened meat increases your chance for diabetes MORE than sugar sweetened soda?! BS
Likely these are obese individuals who drink diet soda thinking it’s healthy for them.

I suspect that its quite possible that with all 3 of these things its much like the situation with the hysteria over cigarettes. It wasnt so much that all of these things are particularly bad but there is one or more producers using a particularly dangerous production method or ingredient.
It was the backlash from the cigarette hysteria that created the everything bacon trend that lasted for a decade or so.

I will eat lunch meat from time to time, but I detest hot dogs - have since I was a kid. I like liver sausage, though. Also have since I was a kid. Go figure.
I’d rather have a grilled cheese sandwich or tuna fish or egg salad.
I’m not giving up the bacon, so don’t even go there! ;)
