Hire Elon Musk to create desalination systems that will desalinate seawater for $200@acre foot—or cheap enough to basically pipe desalinated seawater to any desert on the planet cheaply enough to make desert farming econonomic.
That would roughly double the habitable size of earth.
Musk could make the desalination systems dual use for both earth and mars.
That would be big enough project for them both to get involved in and rapidly change the future of earth.
