Jaguar’s European sales collapsed by 97.5% in April 2025, registering just 49 vehicles, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (AECA). That’s a steep drop from 1,961 units sold in the same month last year. Year-to-date sales from January to April were down 75.1%, totaling only 2,665 units. Globally, Jaguar sold just 26,862 vehicles in FY24/25 — an 85% drop compared to 2018.
They’re pissed because Trump has made them look like sh—t.
Absolutely. I had an uncle who was a foreign car mechanic, and he had an 1969 XKE convertible six cylinder. British Racing Green with a tan interior.
He loved that car. Back in the Eighties, he was in his Seventies, and he would get all dressed up in a sports jacket and fedora and drive his Jag around.
Some truck taking a turn from the wrong lane took the front end off of it while he was in the correct lane...
Woke culture is, regrettably, an American invention — and a misguided export reminiscent of the hippie movement of the 1960s and ’70s. While there were attempts to spread this ideological fervor to Europe, it never truly gained a foothold there. Europe, with its ancient heritage and time-honed sensibilities, has always been too old to embrace such decadence.
That said, Europe certainly faces its own challenges, but they do not arise from wokeness. It is surprising — and frankly disappointing — that Jaguar attempted to peddle this “woke” agenda in Europe, given the EU’s clear resistance to such trends. It was a self-inflicted wound for Jaguar: both sad and utterly misguided.
When it comes to cars, nothing rivals the excellence of German engineering - American and French cars simply do not compare. It may be unfortunate to admit, but it is undeniably true.

A sudden changeover from ICE to all-electric vehicles. Death may be coming, but premature for now.

When I was in high school my boss at the time had a small car clllection including a couple XKE’s.
Old ladies around here drive them
They will be fine short-term...Google is buying hundreds of their EV SUV’s...I saw them all over the Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale area when I was there recently:
I had an XK8 2005 convertible that generated 395H.P. The fastest I ever had it was 140 and it still had power to go faster but I chickened out. The problem is that here in Arkansas the roads were eating my valence panel alive, especially in the Ozarks. The other problem is the wiring and the fuel pump went out ~every 20K miles and was expensive to repair and there wasn’t one Jaguar repair business in Arkansas. I sold it at 80K miles.
At one time I wanted an E-type that I could restore. However, after rebuilding an old TR-6 I abandoned any future attempts to play with British cars.

I just read this article the other day. The convertible V-12 in British racing green is absolutely gorgeous.
Did some work for a very witchy hot chick a while back. Let me drive her Wraith (Rolls Royce) Very fast car. Got like 12 per gallon.
Back in the 1960s, a then-young friend of mine was a single lawyer living in Chicago. He bought an XKE for the romantic attraction it provided. He soon grew to hate the car though for its oil leaks and electrical and mechanical faults.
Pander to 2.5% of the population expected to lose 97,5% of the business.
Huh? Doesn’t everybody buy a car to shout to the world that they’re mentally ill and sexually confused?
I’d check to see if the CEO was shorting the stock. It is the only sensible explanation for what he did.
When I was in high school a friend had a 58 Jag with a V-12 in it. COOL
