Why do you call him a heretic?
I thought he was a con man.

He and The Chaplain of Bourbon Street got too close to the fire. Rest in peace.

I watched his show a couple of times. After watching, I thought: “I don’t think God talks through this man any more than He does my labrador retriever dog. So, I stopped watching his show and started listening to my dog more. RIP Jimmie.

I have never been able to wrap my mind around the concept that God is a spirit without a body. It appears to me in the Bible that God Himself thinks he has a body. He warned the Israelites, “I walk around your camp at night...” He told Moses if he were to look at God he would die, etc.I avoid any view that puts a limit on God.
I can accept the Trinity while not limiting God to our space-time constraints on the Trinity.
I believe it safe to say God exists in ways our space-time limited minds cannot conceive of, or comprehend.

One of the biggest crooks in the preacher racket with his “seed” demands of upwards of a $1,000 a pop.

I know there are many opinions on Jimmy Swaggart, both pro and con. All I'll say is this; "there but for the grace of God go I." We are all subject to the same temptations that caused his downfall. What did Jesus say? "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
I pray that he made his peace with God before he passed. Once we get to the other side, we'll see.

I was a young agnostic Rock and Roller/punk rocker back in the days when he was on the tv. Laughed like crazy when he had his downfall, but still felt sorry for him.
We’re all mortal. We all make big mistakes.
Became one of those awful (according to some Freepers) Roman Catholics when I married my Boston Irish hubby. For the record, I don’t worship Mary, I worship her Son.
Still, I pray for people who make mistakes, large and small. We’re human, we all need salvation.
Ultimately, the Big Boss (as I call him) decides, not us.
Best wishes to all.

Well he was hospitalized for two weeks before he died so my hope is he made his peace with God and repented before he died. I wish that for all as well, including me.
