Planet Earth continues to hide a plethora of secrets that our modern science still seems far from uncovering.

One of the most mysterious regions of our world is the southern pole, the Antarctica, where a group of researchers has now found ‘strange radio waves coming from below the ice’.

With respect you might want to read the sentence from the article you quoted.

There is a sequence of accidental discovery. And it is not the cart before horse...

...or your concept of the way the universe works and the current metaphors describing it are not entirely accurate...

With respect, when you troll, know your subject and don’t rely on GP.

The article is garbage.

Do you have your glasses on? It clearly states they were “LOOKING FOR NEUTRINOS” when they found the Radio waves as a residual discovery. The wave discovery was a byproduct of their primary research on Neutrinos.

So they were not LOOKING FOR RADIO WAVES as the primary project. You are so hellbent on egotistically trying to show how more superior you are in intelligence you can’t even see the obvious right in front of your eyes... It is literally in clear text... You even quoted it and still got it wrong. lol

Probably a couple of Japanese soldiers still thinking that WWII is still going on.

Ice is a semiconductor.

I don't think so. Got a reference?

Sorry, this was 40-yo memory from a book I read in college that was a proceedings volume of physics and chemistry of ice in its many crystalline phases. Especially interesting was how difficult it was to make a single, regular, ice crystal because of the bond lengths. In one paper they had to gold plate them, which I found amusing. Etc.

Strange radio pulses detected coming from ice in Antarctica
June 13, 2025
By Marina Naumova

[snip] A cosmic particle detector in Antarctica has emitted a series of bizarre signals that defy the current understanding of particle physics, according to an international research group that includes scientists from Penn State. The unusual radio pulses were detected by the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) experiment... the signals — a form of radio waves — appeared to be coming from below the horizon, an orientation that cannot be explained by the current understanding of particle physics and may hint at new types of particles or interactions previously unknown to science, the team said... “The radio waves that we detected were at really steep angles, like 30 degrees below the surface of the ice,” said Stephanie Wissel, associate professor of physics, astronomy and astrophysics who worked on the ANITA team searching for signals from elusive particles called neutrinos. She explained that by their calculations, the anomalous signal had to pass through and interact with thousands of kilometers of rock before reaching the detector, which should have left the radio signal undetectable because it would have been absorbed into the rock. “It’s an interesting problem because we still don’t actually have an explanation for what those anomalies are, but what we do know is that they’re most likely not representing neutrinos,” Wissel said. Abstract
A dedicated search for upward-going air showers at zenith angles exceeding 110° and energies 𝐸>0.1 EeV has been performed using the Fluorescence Detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The search is motivated by two “anomalous” radio pulses observed by the ANITA flights I and III that appear inconsistent with the standard model of particle physics. Using simulations of both regular cosmic-ray showers and upward-going events, a selection procedure has been defined to separate potential upward-going candidate events and the corresponding exposure has been calculated in the energy range [0.1–33] EeV. One event has been found in the search period between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2018, consistent with an expected background of 0.27 ±0.12 events from misreconstructed cosmic-ray showers. This translates to an upper bound on the integral flux of (7.2±0.2)×10−21 cm−2 sr−1 y−1 and (3.6±0.2)×10−20 cm−2 sr−1 y−1 for an 𝐸−1 and 𝐸−2 spectrum, respectively. An upward-going flux of showers normalized to the ANITA observations is shown to predict over 34 events for an 𝐸−3 spectrum and over 8.1 events for a conservative 𝐸−5 spectrum, in strong disagreement with the interpretation of the anomalous events as upward-going showers.

Read this yesterday. It is coming from neutrinos acting different than they thought.
