Wise decision. It’s so easy to let things get out of hand

I’ve backed away from local politics for same reason

Things can consume one if not careful

Somewhere there’s a healthy time expenditure and balance

Sometimes it’s good to do that, exit.

I noticed while I was not on social media much (I have a hard time not opining on X when I read the news lol) it made me re-focus and I got a lot more done.

We’ll be here whenever you dial it up again!

My husband taught the gifted here in Pasco for 13 years. He taught first thru 6th.

Monday those 1st graders identified gifted came to his school. Tuesday the 2nd graders and so on.

When he retired they put the gifted in one school and had 1 teacher for each grade. Word was the kids didn’t like it very much because they didn’t get the special projects my husband taught them.

They loved building their own rockets and doing the rocket launches.

I wonder if they even have the gifted program here anymore.

They have built 2 new high schools. What they call STEM schools (I think) The children have to be accepted into them. Very limited. The one has been open a few years now and my grandsons, oldest boy, started high school there this year. It specializes in Science and engineering. The other one will open this fall which will lean towards the medical field and his youngest boy was accepted into that one.

“This heat is good for me bones...”

Oh MS.B Sometimes my legs hurt so bad I want to cry. I have had this since I was a child. Reumatic Fever.

The other day they were hurting so bad I crawled into a tub of HOT water (which I haven’t done in several years) to relieve the pain. It was quite a chore getting back out. :-)

“CBD gummy treatnent?”

My grandson gave me one, one time. If did nothing for me.

So many pain killers do not work on me. I was given Verced and Fentanyl for my first and only colonoscopy when I was 72. I felt every inch of that tube going up my you know what.

Sleeping pills do nothing. They work the opposit and keep me awake.

That sounds miserable, Spunky. OTOH, you were able to get out of a tub! You got me beat lol. If I got into a tub at this point, I’d just die there lol.

I’m purchasing one of those light machines to treat pain. Enough of us can use it here, plus Natalie and Matt have a dear friend who is suffering terribly with back pain. They’re going to try it on him. It’s called red light therapy. Here’s the site. We used to attend church with Tom Kerber and family - Natalie and their daughter are friends. I’ll let you know if it helps with all of our pain....it’s got a good reputation in these parts.

Oh Spunky!
I’m so sorry you are having that kind of pain!

I have a disease called “Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.
it is why I cannot get my back surgery, or my knee replaced.

It’s a very long story, if you want, you can look here.
https://www.webmd.com/brain/what-is-reflex-sympathetic-dystrophy-syndrome.

It all started when I had knee surgery, and the pain NEVER got better.
That was in 2011, and I have been in pain ever since.
So, my heart goes out to you for your suffering..
((((((((Spunky))))))
Big cyber hugs to you!

What a glorious morning on the farm!

Sun is shining. Light wind blowing. Mild temperatures. So beautiful. All the hay got baled and wrapped yesterday, so the fields all look naked. Lots of birds at the feeders, including the hummingbirds. Flowers really starting to take off. Had my coffee on the deck for the first time this year - it was lovely!

“(RSD) is a disorder that causes lasting pain, usually in an arm or leg, and it shows up after an injury, stroke, or even heart attack. But the severity of pain is typically worse than the original injury itself.”

Did you have an injury or was the injury from your knee surgery?

The sun has been shining here for a few days. Only one day when temp was miserable so far.

My little container garden, five gallon buckets, is growing but slowly. I put in bush beans, bush cucumbers, cilantro, parsley, red & green peppers, radishes.

Along the side of my house in a patch of dirt that gets lots of sun, I put 2 tomato plants, 2 cantalope, 1 squash, and more peppers.

I hope it all grows like it should, but in previous years I have not had much luck with the container garden.

PLUS I now have two squirells I can watch. My back fence is a double fence because our back door neighbor decided to put one up behind ours. So there is a little space between the two. The space in not very deep because of the cross board. So I started putting no salt, with shells on, peanuts between the V of each one of my fence boards. One of the peanuts fell between the two fences and this little Squirrel went head first to try to get the peanut and got stuck. It was funny watching him (only seeing his little legs struggling to get out.) Kinda reminded me of when I went through the patio swing, but I didn’t go head first. LoL

Some input on the 3 children killed near here. Was at our vet christian meeting last night. We deal with PTSD cases and suicide problems. The father was a special ops soldier who was desperately seeking treatment, they were slow walking him delaying care. I believe he was dealing with flash backs, violent urges and anger. The children were found near Leavenworth, an area that appears similar to Afghanistan with the steep valleys and mountains. Another one of our group flipped out while driving thru that area and started a gun fight in that area. He is well controlled now thru treatment. The courts knew about the problem, CPS etc. For some stupid reason he was allowed unsupervised 2 hr visit. Part of special ops training was to kill silently, even children. So not sure what sort of craziness was going on in his head.

The ball was dropped in so many ways, will we ever learn?

Good for you! The garden sounds great!

I just had a nap....breeze coming in blowing the curtain, lovely bird sounds, and I can hear the tractor bringing in the last few bales of hay. When I get up early (6:30), I’m ready for a nap around noon lol. Like a baby.

Have fun on squirrel watch lol. First thing I thought with the two fences was how the grass/weeds that grow in between get cut down.
