Their wallets were in a Disney World of hurt.
A Florida father left online viewers speechless after revealing that he paid nearly $1,400 to take his family of five to Disney World for just one day. A video detailing the exorbitant price tag has amassed over 7.7 million views on X.
“Here’s what a day at Disney cost me for a family of five,” explained the unnamed patriarch, who documented the price of tickets, parking, meals and snacks, along with items at the souvenir shops.
Before even embarking on the money-hemorrhaging adventure, the dad reportedly shelled out $30 for all-day parking at the attraction, which is located 20 minutes southwest of Orlando by car. The total cost of tickets for the quintet, including a child under 10, clocked in at an eye-popping $974 — approximately the cost of a round-trip flight from New York to Rome.
Snacks also took a big bite out of the fam’s finances. After their first ride, they bought two water bottles and three ice creams, which set them back $29.50. Meanwhile, a pretzel for the kids and a beer for the dad cost another $19.
After lunch, the family visited the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge park, where they dropped an astronomical amount on various cash-in products.
These included a “Star Wars”-themed Coca-Cola ($6.50), a churro, margarita and water ($36), and some special blue milk ($10.29) that first appeared in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” bringing their snack expense total to a shocking $101.29.

The Florida DMV offers a Disney themed license plate.
Everytime I see one of those things I just shake my head in disbelief.....pay extra money to the state to advertise for a woke morally corrupt corporation.......I just don’t get it.

W@hen Walt Disney (he was a Republican) was running it was a good deal. Now that libs are running it is a rip off. And they claim we are the greedy ones.
“ There’s the price & then there’s the price.”
Don’t forget the upsells to get a better spot in line for a ride.
Hey, they stole my idea!
Detaching from reality and supporting pedophile grooming ain’t cheap.
“In a strange way, I thought my first answer to your posting me was adequate acknowledgement.”
You didn’t provide the source.
Yes, I liked the pre-Disney Orlando, too. In those days, my parents would celebrate my birthday by taking me to an alligator farm!
Speaking of orange groves, I remember that not long after Walt Disney World opened, Sixty Minutes ran a story on how it would affect Orlando. The title of the story was, “Will Mickey Mouse eat up Orange County?” Then in 2007, after I moved away, I saw an article in National Geographic about Central Florida. It reported that of all the orange trees that used to grow in the Orlando area, only 7% of them were left. Nowadays, if you want Florida citrus, you will probably have to go to Polk or Indian River Counties to get it.
I know many citrus trees are killed whenever the winter weather is too cold, and not all of them are replaced, but most of those trees were cut down by land developers, in order to build more homes and businesses. I said, “Sixty Minutes was right, Mickey Mouse DID eat up Orange County!”
LOL, I didn’t, you seem weirdly obsessed with it, any particular reason? you didn’t already know it, had never heard about it, think it might be untrue and important, didn’t know you could search the quote?
The thread covers the cost. I’m not convinced Disney, particuarly the folks working at the resort, are evil.
I’ve seen actors at the resort one day & then seen the same actor at Fringe, in leather with a dog collar on. I don’t even notice anymore.
You are the one that posted the error.
“Dumbo in a day, or die.”
The unofficial guide to disney world used to have a chapter devoted to visiting the magic kingdom in one day with small children. That was the chapter title.
These days, you pay.
I’ve never paid the upsell. Haven’t needed it.
Art8cle is seven years old.
Greedy county politicians have led the way.
I have to deal with locals up in Zellewood. You’ll find the nurseries being forced into subdivision development.
I’ve heard some people are going to Dollywood instead.
You can see the fattest people in the world at Disney.
Good one!! Heh. Reminds of an incident flying- when used to fly weekly cross country and back to Miami/FL and/or NYC to West Coast.
This incident occurred coming into DFW (in those days- Delta MD 80s used alot- thought of them as a pencil with two engines way in the back. Just a weird sensation if up in or near first class). On approach about a mile out— there was massive smoke in the cabin (choking- O2 masks came down, pilot tried to purge it no luck), and runways cleared for EMS/support landing and out the emergency slides/doors/wings.
Lined up to get out- chaotic- a screming child and mother right behind yelled at the kid “We are NEVER going to go to DisneyWorld again!! Neverrrr!!” top of her lungs. Dozens of people, scared as they were said— “Damn right!!”. Heh. just another day in business USA.
You really are obsessed, the article is about changes made at the time, what error are you talking about, the quote is an accurate quote.
They're all at the U.S. Pavilion at Epcot.
