Their wallets were in a Disney World of hurt.
A Florida father left online viewers speechless after revealing that he paid nearly $1,400 to take his family of five to Disney World for just one day. A video detailing the exorbitant price tag has amassed over 7.7 million views on X.
“Here’s what a day at Disney cost me for a family of five,” explained the unnamed patriarch, who documented the price of tickets, parking, meals and snacks, along with items at the souvenir shops.
Before even embarking on the money-hemorrhaging adventure, the dad reportedly shelled out $30 for all-day parking at the attraction, which is located 20 minutes southwest of Orlando by car. The total cost of tickets for the quintet, including a child under 10, clocked in at an eye-popping $974 — approximately the cost of a round-trip flight from New York to Rome.
Snacks also took a big bite out of the fam’s finances. After their first ride, they bought two water bottles and three ice creams, which set them back $29.50. Meanwhile, a pretzel for the kids and a beer for the dad cost another $19.
After lunch, the family visited the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge park, where they dropped an astronomical amount on various cash-in products.
These included a “Star Wars”-themed Coca-Cola ($6.50), a churro, margarita and water ($36), and some special blue milk ($10.29) that first appeared in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” bringing their snack expense total to a shocking $101.29.

I recall discussing the old amusement parks around the Lake George, NY area (in the Adirondacks) on this site and that brought back memories from a few people. Places like Frontier Town or Magic Forest or Land of Make Believe or Storytown USA seemed to be fun and interesting places back then but sadly Disney World and elsewhere like that killed them.
Never been to Disney World, never plan to go. Went to Disneyland in 1965 and again in 2005, so I figure I’m not due again until 2045, and I might very well skip that.
It had a writer nonetheless.
You seem overly concerned with this.
As a “senior” (I think the age limit was 60?), I got a lifetime National Parks Pass for $80. Gets into all of the parks for free. Is good for anything “Federal” IIRC - museums maybe too?? On Federal forest land, camping was $5 a night instead of the usual $20 a night for our long weekend.

Just responding to your post to me.
I would venture to guess that children who went to Disney World 10-20 years ago currently make up a large segment of the adult population that is currently in default on exorbitant student loans for useless college degrees.
There are still great "attractions" in upstate NYS that are far more valuable than Disney World. So many great museums and "outdoor" attractions, like Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake. Fort Ticonderoga, etc.
Money isn’t even close to the issue. But since you don’t get it, I’ll move on.
Big time entertainment is not for the budget conscious.
Add Pro sports is out of reach for tickets, snacks, parking etc to this conversation
If Florida resident discount was available and he didn’t take advantage of it, he’s even a bigger idiot than I already think.

Die, Disney. Die.
Further proof suckers are born every minute.
In a strange way, I thought my first answer to your posting me was adequate acknowledgement.

That’s for one day.
I would give that a hard NO, if I were in that situation.
My daughter is an adult. As far as my wife and I are concerned, I would not go for free.
My wife bought us tickets last year to see a comedian I like for my birthday.
The show was him and 2 other comics at our city arena.
Tickets through the dispicable price gouging ticket Master, parking and a couple of adult beverages apiece at the show totaled out at almost $300.
Back in ‘79 or ‘80 a ticket to the first rock show I ever went to consisting of two headline groups was $8......those days are surly long gone.
We need to be shaming people who say they are going to Disney World. This is not a legitimate "it's just for fun" decision any more than sending your kids to a neo-Nazi summer camp would be.
Went to DW once. With 5-year Olds.
Did my penance. Never again.
You don’t go to Didney Worl to save money.
For any vets, there are places such as GovX.com where one can obtain discounted tickets.
Regardless though, my last trip to Disney back in 2017 was a real $hitshow with numerous rides breaking down, garbage cans overflowing, etc. I have not been back since, especially with the people not knowing how to behave in the resorts and management refusing to do anything about it.
“High prices = smaller crowds “
I think you missed the part where there are high prices but still large crowds.
