Hundreds of ancient burial mounds dot the landscape around Kazanlak in central Bulgaria. They were made between the fifth century BCE and the first century CE by the ancient Thracians for their kings.

The Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak is one of the best preserved and was accidentally discovered by Bulgarian soldiers digging up shelters in 1944.

I used to work with a guy who was born and raised in Toadsuck. He was unfortunately killed in a car accident in 1997.

The handsome, noble and brave citizens of Toadsuck can be deceased, but their natural goodness and civility live on.

That is why I have adopted Toadsuck as my hometown.

I believe that film clip is from “Bettany Hughes’ Treasures of the World.” Bulgaria was in the third season that aired in 2024.
