My daughter and I like to travel. We live in Spokane, WA, and are interested in in American history. Thinking about Savanna Georgia, But maybe some other place . I love New Orleans, where my grandmother lived but daughter does not think that's safe now
Civil war places are all spread out.
Little Bighorn Battlefield. There are a few books published in the last 20 years about the battle that are really good. Read them before you go, fly to Minnesota, see Mt Rushmore, drive across Dakota, then see the Battlefield. It will make you appreciate the lonely life of a soldier on a horse and understand the battle.
Is it true that Sequim, Wa. is the banana belt of the Pacific Northwest?
The Tatoo is an excellent event to attend. You will have memories that will last a lifetime.
ย
The last place you want to be in the summer months is New Orleans.
It’s a sauna on top of a swamp.
Not to mention how the natives get extra restless in The Heat of the Night.
The Badlands of North Dakota and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, ND. Just don’t get out of the car to pet the buffalo. And of course the Badlands of South Dakota and Mount Rushmore.
Joshua Tree, CA and maybe Zion National Park
After twenty some years living east of Seattle.
And twenty five years in Hawaii.
I grew up in So. California.
For history and just history.
Black hills, and Rapid city.
Raw history , not the packaged East Coast
park crap.
Last time I was in Rapid city, I stopped into a bar to get lunch.
The door stoop was still covered in bloody rags from the night before.
That is America!
Yes, the park was impressive! That rock sculpture-er was awesome! EPA won’t allow it, but another president should be added.
Your guesses?
Galveston is great in October and May .... not in the middle of the very hot and humid summer.
The Tattoo is an excellent event to attend. You will have memories that will last a lifetime.

Several years ago I attended a Tattoo in Virginia, Norfolk I believe. It was a great experience. Thanks for your comment!
I love Galveston.
The Dickens on the Strand festival at Christmas is a lot of fun too.
Northwest Michigan, lower peninsula. Leland area up to Northport.
Stay home.
Montana, Wyoming, Idaho ....................
Galveston is now the four largest cruise ship port in the USA. I believe the port has built or is building a fourth passenger terminal.
My wife and I took a cruise through the inner passage of Alaska in mid May, we had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect.
I don’t travel.
Heard that Gaza, Sudan, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo are not so good.
None of them give complementary continental breakfasts or a foil wrapped Godiva chocolate on the pillow in hotel rooms.
Iran is listed as “Level 4. Do Not Travel.”

Big wall....
Ancient Aliens has had more than one episode explaining how today’s experts with high tech and large mechanized equipment would still have a hard time lifting, moving and fitting together multi-ton blocks. True in South America and elsewhere.
As Giorgio Tsoukalos has piped up: I don’t buy it that the ancient people did this with ropes, logs and sharpened chicken bones.
